A lot of demos are based on older builds of the game.
One example I can think of the top of my head is the GOWIII demo, which was a build almost a year old.
The game doesn't take place between the 20s and 30s.

The Kinect cam works in dark/dim lit rooms, but to be able to work in completely dark rooms like the one shown in this video would still be kind of hard. You could argue that the light emitted from the TV may be enough for Kinect, but an external light source may still be required.
Wii works because of its IR sensor and Move works because of the track-ball. The human body, without either of those things would be hard to track on camera.

I mean come on, we've seen much better ports before, looking equal or sometimes better on PS3(when lead).
I don't know how they're doing it. It doesn't look like shit. But this isn't a matter of what a system can or can't do, it's all on the developers.

GOW is still pretty beast though.
A couple of my friends replaced their old 360's with the new Slims.
I guess people like them make part of these numbers. Re-buying 360s has aided the numbers, my guess.
I kept my old one though, cause it's fine and can still play the same games regardless.
Not sure if the same happens with PS3 though. I only know of one person that replaced their old ass 20GB with a 250GB Slim.
