This is exactly what happened with Demons Souls, I was one of the lucky ones to preorder it and when I picked it up people were upset because Gamestop only sold the preorder copies.
This time around I actually saw copies around of the game. But then again was in Gamestop early to get Rage as well. I have wayyy too many games I'm trying to shuffle at the same time.
But dont worry if you don't own it yet, I only punin a couple of hours and I died enoug...
I'm a HUGE Halo fan..but I honestly find it more exciting to see what kind of game 343 enterprises can pull off with this team.
Steam honestly means nothing to the console Xbox Live gamer.
At the same time, there's nothing wrong with it being on PSN if that's what Sony wants for their network, but so far it's done nothing that made Portal 2 standout and it does nothing for any of the other games on Live or the services it offers.
The cool part of Portal was because it was a Valve title they allowed you to have the game free for PC if that was your choice.

Not even close to being a COD fankid..but I've watched EA get a complete pass simply because the COD haters are just using this game to push an agenda nothing more nothing less. But, all that that talk is going to backfire because catering to the flame boys is a double edged sword that they find isn't fun to swallow.
I've loved Battlefield even when the original Bad Company got criminally overlooked. But, I definately love COD as well...

I saw the interview where he talked about how he left. But you are absolutely right. The game is wayyyyyy to important to Micrsoft to stray too far off the beaten path. The are many many ways to improve and carry on the legacy without drastic expirimentation.
At least not right out of the chute anyways. Look at al the years Square toiled on Final Fantasy XIII only for people to completely hate on the lack of villages.etc.

Sarcasm aside..but I remember buying my PS3 Slim when it launched and the ONE game I couldn't wait to buy was MGS4 because it was THE title for the system at the time.
I had heard there was alot of cutscenes but that first 30 minutes had me like 'WTF'...

Sorry I wrote it wrong. I meant we knew about this guy because he got pub for his work on Metal Gear, but I had no idea there were ex Bioware employees involved in the project.
It's clear though that he didn't have as big of an impact into the project as the original story made it seem, plus he had been dealing with depression as well.

This team consistently raises the bar from game to game. What they pulled off with Forza 3 seemed like a miracle with the development time they had to work with.
