My top three games this holiday season.
I think Move will will fail. Only because the casuals will be turned off by the price PS3 + Move = $$$ ..... And then there are the hardcore that already own a Wii and a PS3 or have at least tried the Wii to know motion controls is not for hardcore. It may be fun but try going online against someone that has a DS3 and you'll get your asss handed to you.
Kinect is the buzz on the streets for the casuals, and the next new gimmick in gaming ... If they keep the price cheap,...
If your truly a hardcore gamer, then your likely to put your skills up against other whether on LIVE or PSN .... and I CAN NOT see anyone prefer to use MOVE or Kinect unless they are ok with getting pawned. It does NOT give you an advantage in hardcore games, it just makes them more fun to play (RE5 perfect example)
360 owners have nothing to complain about this year, so yeah, they should be more than happy with the line-up.

I showed video of Kinect to a bunch of casual non-gamers last weekend on fathers day, and everyone was amazed at the technology and everyone wants to try it because it looks like fun.
I have a 360/Wii with motion + .... So the PS3 doesn't interest me because I still have too many games I have played and too many games to look forward to.... And MOVE doesn't interest me because it's a complete rip-off of the Wii. (not that that's a bad thing)
My question goes out to the many PS3/Wii owners out there .... Are you really that impressed with MOVE that you would actually buy it? Especially since you already own a Wii?

interesting to me is good stories and open gameplay as in not linear like every COD released.
Thats why i liked a lot of Far Cry 2 gameplay, and thats why i'm really looking forward to Rage and Crysis.

Shooters are the backbone of the industry cause they sell more than other genres... its that simple.
im not a fan of every type of shooter but i will say that i am definitely a fan of games that are in the First-Person perspective. The immersion of getting into that virtual world/game is awesome.

It's all PR talk ... No company has gone more than 6 years without releasing a new console.
So I expect the new 720 or whatever to be realeased 2011 or the latest 2012 holiday season.

The PS3 is basically WiiHD ... Which is a great thing if those PS3 owners don't already own a Wii ... otherwise it's basically still the same gimmick on both consoles.
Anyways, only time will tell.

But yesterday I had a big fathers day get together, dusted off my Wii to let the casuals play and it was fun. Took a break to show my family/friends the videos of Kinnect on Xbox Live and, honest to God, EVERYONE was impressed and wants it.
Being that's it really cheap to make Kinect, and I'm sure it's cheaper now to make the new 360S.
The new 360S that is out now will be the rumored $199 console, and the bundle including Kinect will be $299. With Kinect being sold separately for $99.
MS is just clearing old stock now and letting all the early adaptors jump on the new 360S at it's current price before dropping the bomb and putting those prices out right around November for the Ho...

As much as I give props to Sony for pushing 3D, it's still a couple years too early only because most people are still enjoying upgrading to a HD TV, and now they are supposed to buy a 3DHDTV at prices twice as much as LVDs.
And MOVE will fail because it's too similar as the Wii, the controller looks ridiculous, and most PS3 gamers are hardcore gamers and aren't interested .... And the casuals that own a PS3 most likely already own a ...
Although it's likely this game will now fail because of the subscription fee, I still give major props to Sony for being the first to bring MMO game to consoles.
Sony should really at LEAST give the first month free to entice places and get them hooked.

They are saying an Arcade 360S bundled with Kinect for $199.
If this is true, MS truly has a winner on their hands because this will definitely take Wii sales this holiday season.
Kinect will be successful and so will the new Windows Phone 7 with Xbox Live.
I showed my 13 year kid some demos of those games and the fact you can get achievements and that's what he wants for Christmas.
