So he only wrote the backstory and they still did the main story. Pretty sure they only did it for his name, Miyazaki’s a good story writer and he knows how to write for games. I’m sure it was a nice paycheck though

I agree. They’re not doing this angle to make less profit then the old way of doing things. I guarantee these companies have laid out 10 year plans with this stuff ending in micro transactions. Everyone bitched at beginning of this generation that $60 for a games not enough. I bet the plans to get the games into as many hands as possible with subscriptions and when people become used to it work in micro transactions. $60 for a games a bargain, as long as Sony keeps doing it the way they are that’s where my money’s going

Yeah your right that it’s a great deal now but it’s a new service. I’d think stuff like that’s going to slowly be introduced over time. $60 for a game is a bargain, if it stays at That and season passes I’m happy.
Also I’ve never owned a PlayStation. Microsoft’s new strategy don’t make sense to me without heavy micro transactions. People have been complaining $60 isn’t enough for game development these days. So Xbox offering games for less then that makes me suspicious
See people mentioning pumping out cheap games for game pass then adding a bunch of microtransactions to make a profit then I’m done with Xbox. Sony makes high quality games with charging honestly upfront.
