I suppose it's all about cost as they know that they cannot get away with a $600 console in this day and age, it would sell but not as many units as a $400 console.
PS4 is still essential for me for ND's games. PS4+PC is still the best option I think.

Man that's just sad, my 3 year old HD6950 can play BF3 at high settings with 60-80 fps. I was hoping to get this on PS4/Xbone to play with friends but I may just have to stick with PC.
Can these nextgen systems really be that underpowered? Seems that maybe just like this gen only the system exclusives will shine on the console whilst the multiplats will be better on PC.
The game will be 720p@60fps maybe 1360x786 and up scaled to 1080p but it will not be native 1080p@60fps.
I don't understand why this game cannot run at 60fps, Forza does but with the vanishing track in the rear view mirror lol, hope they fix that for the Bone fans.
Driveclub is 30fps.
But for fast paced shooters, racers and fighting games
30fps sucks, PC+console gamers know this, console only gamers don't or are in denial and try to defend it.
Sadly you are probably right, graphics do matter to many people and devs will push the eye candy over frame rate most times.
If we want max detail and max frames then PC is still the only option :(

These new consoles really do seem underpowered after looking at the new dead rising 3 footage, BF4 poor performance stories.

Never going to happen, consoles are aimed at the mass market mainstream. A $700 system would not sell very well and MS, Sony and Nintendo know this.
Modern console are/will be a compromise of cost verses price.
The next gen consoles are nowhere near 'high end pc's' and that's why BF4 runs at 60fps@720p.

The only thing that spoiled the KZ multiplayer for me was the low framerate if this is true then that is great news and I will probably get shadow fall day one because of it.

This just looks poor because we have seen the PC/PS4 versions. You want to play a great looking open world game then time to let go of the 8 year old consoles and choose PC or Nextgen.
And I know there are current gen open world games that look better so what. Time to move on, this console gen has dragged for way to long.
That's what I think too, the difference in quality from red dead and GTA4 to this just seems too great.
If these are PS3 shots and it runs at a solid 30fps then that's excellent.
I would still rather play this on PC/PS4 though.
