These numbers are pretty decent.
Without many AAA titles, and the best yet to come, PS3 got a slow start but i believe it will change, Xbox360 is also doing well, and the Wii.
Actually I think 2009 will be a better year for Playstation 3 than 2008

I don't consider this game as a typical game, and I don't think you should take the gameplay too seriously, in this game it is the fun factor, and the creative factor that counts, and then again the sharring.
The Wii(2006) will have a 2-3 year strong sale, and then slowly fade away, the Xbox360(2005) will follow the playstation 3 in sales, one year without competition, the next 2 years, then it will be left closely behind.
The Playstation 3 will really begin to shine in about 2 years.

It´s not a game in the classic way, it´s more to be creative, and yes this game will sell, but not to hardcore gamers like you, but a hardcore gamer like me ;)
It's nothing to do to be old, I just think it's not your type of game.
A side note, I think the delay is because of psn, this game will make psn burn if they didn't make it rigth in the first place.
