This is some insight by someone well in the know on how the ASA works. In short, it will amount to nothing of substantial prominence.

This is a quick note by someone well in the know on how the ASA works. This is nothing 'legal' or anything truly going to amount to anything... no matter how giddy gaming trolls think it will be.

People want N64 emulation so bad like Dolphin, only so they can boost the games higher than the average of 15fps that plagued the OG system. ;)
Agreed Nitus10, but you know what I meant. ;)
So like almost every game not called Grand Theft Auto when it comes to pricing after launch windows?
People are forgetting one thing when making, 'but it is on the PC' comparisons.
Consoles are a closed licensed platform. It puts it in a whole different ballpark when it comes to things such as this, 'emulator's being legal' or not. Microsoft understands this, thus the action they took.
The PC does not have regional 'licensing', and hopefully it stays that way.
@Spiderwick In that instance I can understand. Don't they have preloading on Origin however?
Good thing they have discs for instances such as that.
Have people not seen GTAV, DOOM, UC4, MLB The Show, Until Dawn, etc., etc.? All of them being 50GB+, GTAV being well over 60GB now I believe. This should not be a 'shock' to anyone in 2016 on.
Oh, Albert Penello ... https://media.giphy.com/med...
They have been demoing non final code since the beginning of time. You have to demo and create marketing buzz, etc.. You cannot wait for final code to do this. Only difference is that now you have places like DF the past 5+ years pointing out things your average person would not have noticed with pre-final code.
Again, this is nothing new, nor anything to worry about.
Yes, it is not final code. The games are not allowed to run worse than the base PS4 for the sake of more 'pretty'. So I would expect frame-rate issues to be ironed out, in final optimization passes like most game development.
@-Foxtrot
Whoa there, there is no 'silly game'... just adding to the discussion that they have done something similar in the past, by region locking Collector's Edition. Breathe.
Just like they forgot about the US with this version.

And their lineup as well as global brand recognition.
To add another perspective with maths... you are getting a minimum of 220% more power over the One S in the PS4Pro, at a hair over 14% more in retail cost 1TB to 1TB.
"Disappointing specs" from a $399 box? You have got to be kidding me. I could not be more thrilled to go from 1.84TF to 4.2TF at essentially a nominal increase to price over the Slim.
To put that into perspective. The 1.31TF One S is $350 for their 1TB model. The 4.2TF PS4Pro is $400 for their 1TB model.
"Console Gaming Was Never About a Premium Experience"
Until the Super Nintendo, Mega Drive, 7800, Amiga, PC Engine, etc., etc..
PS2 DVD, PS3 BR, etc., etc..
My most anticipated game this gen (and last buhahaha), Nioh is my second most... then the obvious choices like GoW, Days Gone, etc..
Just for some context on the PSP Ad. They had several of them, in different positions. Both women... here is another, but the narrative wants you to focus only on the one shown...
