The picture quality is only bad cause of the ancient mpeg2 codec. You can be sure that this will change in future and will surpass HD-DVD PQ, cause Blu-ray has a much higher bitrate. This are just the startup problems, with mpeg4 it will be light's out for HD-DVD.
You got something wrong here. You won't see HD-DVD movies on 360 if the studios decide to include HDCP and that's most likely what will happen.

You got no proof saying they are both of equal power. Besides the specs fact is that some devs are saying PS3 has more power but is hard to develope for and some devs are saying PS3 has more power and is easy to develope for. Until this day you didn't hear even 1 dev saying 360 is more powerful.
