Define "rent." Haha, do you mean Blockbuster?
Ha, don't get me wrong. I didn't say it was a bad thing, I support environmentalism and thinking about the future of our planet and society. Don't flame me please :(...but I'd like Gore to run for president again.
He's a Japanese hippie!!!
Ha, they still make lots of money off of their cell phones with Sprint. They also manufacture a lot of embedded electronic components too if I'm not mistaken.
Did you not like 300? That movie is awesome on Blu-Ray!
Hmm, you can criticize the Blu-Ray camp for counting the promotional discs (even though HD-DVD does the same thing) all you want. But then while we're on the subject of supposedly skewing statistics, maybe the HD-DVD group should start counting PS3's in their player market share, especially when most PS3 owners also own/rent Blu-Rays. I mean, why would a PS3 owner buy a separate, so called stand alone player when they have a perfectly capable Blu-Ray player and DVD upscaler.
Yeah, RE2 was my first game for my Playstation and one of my favorites. I was like 13 and it scared the hell out of me. Haha.
Thanks for your input, I found your post interesting. I didn't really expect to find someone else replying to me that knew what they are talking about, haha.
Anyhow, you do make some good points. However, I still hold my belief that the Core processors are not true parallel systems. Yes the chips actually have separate execution cores, but they are still programmed for, for the most part, sequentially. And like you said, the cores do not have their own cache, and the instru...
I'm assuming the processors you speak of being ones such as the Duo from Intel and so forth. While these processors do indeed have multiple cores, they are not true parallel processing systems. They are still programmed for on the most part in a linear basis, and the chip does most of the work to divide up the threads. From what I understand (although I have no actual experience with the Cell), programming for the Cell is more like having multiple independent single core processors, in whi...
We are approaching the maximum speed of flat microprocessors due to the speed of electrical signals (the speed of light). There are two approaches to solving this problem, 3 dimensional cpu's, or parallel processing systems, and I'd say the latter is more feasible atm. People can complain all they want, but I give props to Sony for forcing devs to start using the Cell. It may be harder and people will complain about it, but it will become the norm in time. Think about when computer scienc...
Yeah, I'd like a feature where you can jump to a letter. Like if my songs are arranged by artist, and I want The Spice Girls, I can start spelling out "The Sp.." and jump right to it. (Jk about the Spice Girls part...yeah)
I don't know if you know this or not, but the reason Square switched over to the Playstation for Final Fantasy VII is because of the CD-ROM drive. Nintendo's cartridges couldn't hold enough information for what is now considered one of the greatest games of all time (Kinda makes you think of Blu-Ray doesn't it?). Another fact that you may not know is that Nintendo only had themselves to blame for this. Back in the early 90's, Nintendo commissioned Sony to make a CD-ROM drive for the SNES d...
Ha, riiight.
I dunno, I think the AI will be fine. These are the same clips we've been seeing for months now. Not that I have a problem with what is shown, but any improvements and adjustments to the AI will not have been reflected in these clips. And of course, in a single player game you don't want perfect AI. The enemies have to make mistakes otherwise you'd never kill them and the game would be frustrating. That is what online games are for, where you pop your head out for a sec and get shot in t...
But how on earth can you criticize any other company for apparently stealing others' ideas without first criticizing Microsoft. I don't loath Microsoft, but they've always been the ones to be like "hey, there's a good idea, let's try that too" -- Windows OS, Vista, Zune, XBox, and now that new iPhone clone that they filed a patent for. I mean, I understand everything can't be original, but don't start pointing fingers without pointing at MS first. Not to mention the fact that hav...
Hell yeah. I'll be picking this up on the 23rd.
Ha, he may be kind of blunt, but I think he's hilarious.
But you have to admit that when Bladestar got down to one bubble, he started offering more constructive analysis and advice, as opposed to always bashing Sony and what they do. Haha, keep it up and maybe I'll give you some bubbles, maybe. ;)
but I got my ps3 for the exclusives. Of course we lost a few good ones, but the most important ones for me are MGS4 and the FF series. And I really don't care about the lost ones as long as I can play them on my system. Complain however much you want about the PSN, but I think it's great being free and with Home coming. Icing on the cake is the blu-ray player. I have an HDTV, and I do not want to buy a so called stand alone player when I have a perfectly capable Blu-ray player in my ps3,...
Lolz!
