@BanginTunes777,
I think the biggest difference is Borderlands 1 & 2 both had story campaigns that were generally considered to take about 30 hours to complete. Destiny, on the other hand, could be done in 5 hours. Borderlands 1 and 2 also mainly had what I could consider old school PC style expansions. Back in the days when expansions to games were bought on a separate disc and were usually pretty close to the original game in length. Not all the DLC was that long,...
I think you are confusing DLC with GaaS. DLC and expansions been available in games for years and years. GaaS is still a fairly new concept that usually involves a rather short initial amount of game content, usually with a lot of grinding, then DLC expansions at intervals to keep players interested with the new content. Frequently the GaaS games get criticized with "cutting the game up" and charging money for DLC that presumably was part of the original game. Borderlands doesn&...
I think the new characters is nice. A lot of games catch flak for not expanding their playable characters in sequels. Destiny is a good example. How many people were disappointed when we didn't get any new classes/characters in Destiny 2? Now it would be nice to have been able to play the original characters in Borderlands 2, but considering the story, I think it would have been a bit messed up. Yeah, it could still have been done but I think it might have been one of those deals whe...
I remember the NES very well, I also remember it freezing, numerous games that couldn't handle the amount of sprites on the same line without flickering, and a few other issues. Yes, it was a great system for the time, but it was a piece of electronics and like any other, it had issues if you spent enough time with it. Aside from my Pong game, which only played Pong so it's not really a fair comparison, I think my Genesis was my most stable console, but I sold it to a friend and it ...
Got to spend money to make money. Looking forward to seeing the new games in action.
Or wait a bit and get April and May, but at least you know what March and April are already. What's behind door number 2? ;D
Hopefully this is the spiritual successor to Silent Hunter III everyone wants.
Do you want to get taken off my Opencritic list? Because this is how you get taken off my Opencritic list.
All the gaming streamers I watch are on Twitch.
Probably the ones not on a PS4.
Epic Games Store: No crappy games, just crappy policies.
My Firestick was a POS and was near worthless. Always crashing to the main menu, wouldn't wake up half the time until I unplugged it and reset it and it didn't want to play well with my Onkyo receiver. The battery life on the remote is awful, most likely because the mic on the remote is spying on you 24/7. You know it's bad when there are tutorials online to run a drill bit through the mic on the remote. I eventually got pissed enough that I snapped the remote in half. In add...
Agreed, I am still running my 4790K. It was "ok" with a GTX 750 but once I upgraded to a 1070Ti, it does much better and completely changed how I looked at this old system. Still not top of the line by any means, but it does 1080p at very good FPS in most games, which is all I want or need.
It will also, more than likely, spy on you 24/7.
If you think no one has complained about 3rd part exclusive deals, then you haven't been paying attention.
I am sorry I gave this site a click to read what they were crying about. It's a Vietnam war era skin that has absolutely nothing to do with anything else.
I am a little conflicted on the store. On one hand, the few items available on rotation sort of shoot down any claims of the game having microtransactions run wild, but on the other hand it seems like an odd way to sell cosmetic items that don't really have any effect on gameplay. I sometimes think it would be nice to have more options for my Javelins, but at the same time, it's pretty easy to gain enough coins to buy things once something you like shows up. There is the urge to bu...
@Neonridr,
Valid point, but I don't know if it's that good of an excuse. It would be like Google's new console coming out and looking like a GameBoy just because they are new to the business and everyone else had a head start. Epic knew who their main competitor was going to be and what they offered before they threw their hat in the ring. Now maybe they didn't want to invest that much in it at first and wanted to see the numbers before expending, but tha...
@porkChop,
The Epic store isn't competition for gamers until their store can actually meet Steam eye-to-eye. Right now all they are is a shell, just a storefront, not much more than what any person can rent through Amazon Web Services. The only way they are competing with Steam is for the publisher's business, not the gamers. I could give a rat's ass less about what the publishers think of a particular store, I want to know what the store offers me as a consu...
Randy Pitchford at the PAX East conference:
"I think you're gonna like what we're gonna show, I know there's like, a lot of thinking 'what is this next Borderlands game?' You know, it's gonna be like, battle royale or something."
:Audience boos:
"Battle royale games are fun, that's not what we're making."
