What if they announce at E3 that Live will be free? You know, counter balance all of this DRM connected BS. Then, maybe just a little, it might be somewhat tolerable.
That would be the only thing I can see that would save them from the sh17 storm they created.
Why is it that game developers/publishers think that they deserve ANYTHING from used game sales? WHY?
Car manufacturers don't bitch and moan and screw the used car sales, do they?
But, then again these rich a55 devs/pubs probably don't even have the phrase "used car" in their vocabulary.
Once a product is bought, it can and should be free from the original manufacturers claim to financial gains.
If they wan...
"I'd love to see Killer Instinct on the XBLA, but I'm not sure a new Killer Instinct retail game would appeal to a mass audience"
so, the resurgence, revival and success of fighting games for the past few years, a la SF and MK, along with the few niche brands here and there, doesn't signify a market demand? Who's been buying them up then? The same people that gathered up all the ET catridges and buried them in the desert?
BTW, PSN/XBL...
They're in the videogame business to make money off of hardware and software sales. How they go about getting that money is their business. Same thing applies to Nintendo and Sony.
props to the Halo franchise for finally looking good, but how long did it take MS and Bungie to produce something as visually impressive as what PS3 has offered it's userbase?
multiplat, it clearly shows other formats at the end of the video.
@Mystic: as far as commercials go, MS likes to say things like "pre-order now for XBOX 360", "now, only on XBOX 360" with hardly any real gameplay footage and no other format logos at the end, whereas Sony shows their logo at the intro, with "the following footage is in-game" and usually ends up showing other format logos at the end.
blame that on the film industry for not having a set standard for aspect ratios for movies
edit: disregard my reply if you all were talking about blu ray games, and NOT movies.
FYI, KZ3 is ONLY 40gb because of 3D, it's only about 22-24gb without 3D :)
You should've said it'd be better if they compared GAMEPLAY models, you wouldn't have gotten disagrees...
....Lame disagreer..pft
this is their 2nd or 3rd entry in THIS GEN. I tried their demo's, but hated the fact that they are STILL stuck in last gen with their speech boxes. I can look past their outdated gfx and physics engine, but those damned speech boxes slow the game down and throw you out of the immersion..
to when GeoHot released his proof of concept video of his CFW, they'd have seen GeoHot's IP address AND MAC address associated with the PS3 that he was showing it with. They'd also would have seen his other 5 or 6 PS3's in that video too..
"They got a lot of them, don't they? Too bad all of them seem to be follow ups to existing franchises and nothing new."
REALLY?
"Too bad they don't make more learning games for you."
You must be talking about yourself with your IMAGINARY console of choice there, cuz you sure as hell don't know a damn thing about videogames. New IP's are introduced, garner favorable sales/praise, funds the devs. for sequel, ...
The writer and all OTHERS who had problems getting headshots were probably playing on EASY. I noticed this when I let my nephew play both UC games, EASY mode has massive auto-aim, to the point where you'd have to fight with the reticule to line up a headshot.
Sorry bro, I love me some UC and Resistance, but it's clear as day that Insomniac are the weaker devs when it comes to improvements upon previous iterations of their games/engines, as compared to Naughty Dog that is.
@herpiesprotagonist
REALLY, "Is that why 360 exclusives like Alan Wake and Gears of War 3 look better than 98% of PS3 exclusives."
WOW, I guess all the industry insiders must be REALLY stupid to think that Uncharted 1 destroyed Gears of War 2, that Killzone 2 set another benchmark in console GFX, as did Uncharted 2, God of War 3, GT Prologue and GT5. Alan Wake can't even touch Heavy Rain and that's the weakest PS3 exclusive GFX wise, and did I mention that Ge...
It's a bit of overkill don't you think? Just look at the specs for it, look at what you have or will get as far as a TV goes, and decide for yourself if it's worth your money.
...and you can't forget about the space for the layout of the setup.
not much, got it shortly after initial release... rather have a REAL surround setup now though. Testing the unit with surround test discs, etc. gives you the impression that it'll be pretty good for a sound bar. Reality smacks you upside the head when you're no longer feeding it test discs that play each channel one at a time. It was a good bang for the buck though. now, maybe not so much :(
"The Sony is certainly well-suited for smaller dens and bedrooms, and it easily trumps rival soundbar/subwoofer models, including the Yamaha YAS-70 and Boston Acoustics TVee Model Two, delivering better sound and more features than both for less money. As such, the HT-CT100 is an easy pick for the best sub-$300 soundbar/subwoofer system we've heard to date."
+1, nothing new
Silverstone already announced a similar product earlier this year, partnered with asus. Xg2 external gpu case, connects to laptop via thunderbolt 2.
