The economy is to blame for that.
But anyway, the prices for players will go down dramatically. Look at how expensive DVD players were at first! Only a small percentage of people had the money to get one. Now, there are DVD players going for $25. Technology takes time to get cheaper and cheaper, but it will no matter what later in its life.
