Well,Nintendo certainly managed to fall into that trap.I don't think Killzone and Infamous will sell consoles but who knows what else Sony has got for PS4 "launch window".God of War would probably move some units in US,GT6 in Europe.
I mean you are not asking people for $60 game you are asking them to shell out like $600(console($400) + few games,extra controller,etc).Big difference...

Market has crashed because HD business model is fundamentally broken,budgets have gone up by order of a magnitude but audience didn't change much.Only the biggest games can survive in that kind of environment.
Expensive games,DLCs,MT are the consequence,not the cause--desperate attempt to lift the bottom line out...
Not sure why all the moaning,microtransactions have been with us for quite a time and they are here to stay.In fact MT might be the only hope to save something from this industry crash(yes,I believe industry has crashed already).Properly implemented MT,that is.
It won't happen overnight,there will be many many MT blunders but I hope one day some company implements them properly to both theirs and consumers satisfaction.If that happens others will copy if not...buy a smart...

Getting Respawn game would be incredibly smart(if the game is great).Respawn has bunch of very talented ex IW guys.
People should forget about Battlefied,COD or whatever sold great this gen.Next gen=reset and history is certainly not in favor of generational transfers.

Even if Vita somehow magically remained at 60k per week for the rest of the year,software would be lagging like 1.5-2 years.Hard to release(or localize) something that doesn't exist.
