There have been lots of tactical and large scale shooters. For a “grown up” you seem to miss a lot of games, Squad and Hell let loose have had major updates recently, and don’t look like utter trash.
Well except for Squad, Hell let loose, Arma 3, insurgency etc.

Ugh, are you paying attention? I said that it should work on both not that there should be no PS5 version. My physical copy of Gears Tactics gives me access to the Series X version, same with Gears 5, Halo MCC, Ori, Yakuza 7, Borderlands 3, Watch Dogs, and AC Valhalla. Why couldn't Sony do the same?
To be fair, I think things would have turned out better for Spider Man if there was only one SKU and it simply worked on both platforms. Needlessly having two different versions of the game made it an easy choice to wait for a PS5 before buying it.

Don't drink the Kool aid, it's not good for you. If people want to play Sony games, they aren't going to spend 1500+ to do it. The market for people who want console experiences has shown to be very healthy between the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. If your theory was correct the Series X/S would not be selling the way it is, as MS has been far more open about their PC release plans.
