Don't agree with review, and no one said it cost 500 million to make or market Destiny. I believe it was said it is a 500 million dollar franchise, meaning multiple games. A rep from Bungie even said that the game nor it's marketing did not cost anywhere near 500 million, but people continually use the it cost 500 million in their reviews. If you are having a lot of fun with a game, how can you consider it average, enjoyment is the focus of gaming.
It's already bean corrected by Bungie that their was no where near 500 million spent on Destiny for deveopment or marketing, Bobby Kotick was saying it is a 500 million dollar franchise., that does not equate to 500 million spent on the game. Gaming sites blew that out of proportion.
It's not a critical failure, half or more of the reviews are good and many by reputable sites and reviewers.
Launched in other country's and had a Maden bundle in the US and still could't beat PS4. First weeks launch sales are usually a console highest single week sales so those numbers will go down.
PS4 Destiny bundle is still at the top of most video games sales charts, I doubt they were counted.
These are just UK sales number not worldwide.
Even though the PS4 is ahead in the UK it is not double the Xbox One so the sales of Destiny on PS4 probably wouldn't be double.
People who genuinely like the game are apologist? you do know that it's a multiplayer game? How many FPS's have 20 hours of single/co-op gameplay before even touching competitive multiplayer?

I think the game is great, and I am sure since Bungie have a 10 year plan for destiny that there will be plenty of updates to the game to keep it going, some of them inspired by the community.
As far as enjoyment it is one of the best games of the year.
They are not counting destiny sales with PS4 special edition. This article is a little miss leading.

If it's a story based game then it should be good, a lot of games aren't really story based games even single player games, the story is just a way to move you from level to level and not a whole of emphasis is put on it.
I like story driven games but I remember when most games were just single player and a good many people playing games then just skipped the cut scenes because they didn't care about story, they just wanted to play the game.

All the extreme hype that was created for this game came from video game web sites, not Bungie themselves. all games get hyped by the developer and publisher but for this game I saw no more hype than for any other big budget game.

This is a good and truthful review of a great game.
Don't be a part of the negative click that has popped up over this game. If you are, you are missing out on a great game with lots of good times to be had while playing it.
It already work's for games that need to be online all the time ... MMO"s. It sort of works anyway, because they are often down for maintenance and sometimes from other problem's. People still play and love their MMO's and they are not going anywhere soon.
