It sold 1.5 million in three days and it was a remaster. If it sold a little under in three days, that does not make it a failure at all.
The only failure is that publishers did not release any major games for the month.
This is some kind crazy spin to say The last of us was a failure by any means.
It's a collectors edition of a game, people buy them for the extra content specifically, of course the people that buy these things are going to be upset at getting less things for the same price.

If the Xbox One edition gets extra physical content in it's collectors edition and the other Playstation and PC versions do not, then the Playstaiton 4 and PC versions should cost less than the Xbox One version.

I doubt that it is even a console seller to begin with, Why Microsoft think this game will be is beyond me.
The real problem is that Square/Enyx allowed this to be purchased by Microsoft as an exclusive when the majority of Tomb Raider sales have always been on Playstation Platforms and PC by a large number.
Microsoft also need to come clean on what kind of exclusivity they have with the game. They are still very shifty about the whole thing.
It was only available three days in July and still was number one, the game sold 1.5 million (PS4) in one day world wide(rarely does any game for one platform sell that many copies in one day), that is very good sales for any game on a single platform. It will be number one for August too or at least in the top five.

In the future they may say the game is coming to PC but not PS4. The started on Playstation and PC and should continue to be on those platforms without delay.
Tomb raider was released on Playstation and PC at basically the same time, was way more popular on Playstation and sold many more copies on Playstation probably because of the controller.
Any way you look at it the game was more recognized as a Playstation 1 game and has always sold better on Playstation consoles.

It really doesn't seem that great of a move by Microsoft to buy exclusivity to games that got their success and start on Playstation consoles, people don't forget where those games got their start, it's like Microsoft riding piggy back on Playstation's past successes.

I made up my own mind to buy the PS4 based on Sony having the best first party studios, best hardware (Fact not fiction) best hardware design and small form factor, best version of most third party games and I am not just talking resolution, virtually no screen tearing and stuttering in PS4 games. I own both and I am much happier with my PS4 than I am with My Xbox One.
The only long load is at the beginning, in single player.
Which means they will not be playing on Xbox One, so the tittle would have been more fitting had they said they would not be playing on next gen consoles instead of a flame bait tittle like Above.
