Why should Starfield be Xboxs last chance at redemption when Phil Spencer made it clear that consoles are not his priority in the first place?

I think everybody would be surprised if Starfield doesn't crack the 85+ at Metacritic/OpenCritic. I plan to play it for sure, the previews so far didn't make me super hyped, but didn't turned me away either.

Really? I'm from a German region and I barely read or heard from any professional source that we have to dislike/hate UK after they left the EU. However there were tension before as some of the UK politicians were less committed to the idea of EU. UK had a lot of privileges within the EU, that had generated tension with other members. For what its worth, some Russian military strategist must have been happy, as these was one of the plans from the 90s to weaken the EU/Europe in the future....

Agree, I liked the mimics and some parts of the story/characters in Prey (was unfortunately spoiled of the early twist and the ending, so that was a let-down to begin with) but didn't captured me like Dishonoured did. Thus I'm surprised they mentioned how good Prey looked. To me it was easily the worst part of the game, extremely sterile, bland looking objects, areas and enemies. The art design, especially of the vampires, were one of the things which turned me off instantly when I sa...

While they even admit there is A LOT of speculation based of those numbers from the official report, I'm sure Sony is happy with it ...or maybe not, when they start to not care about these PC ports anymore.

I still want a Bloodborne PC port, I'm hoping there is a remaster/remake on the way ala Demon Souls. I'm still confused why Sony doesn't do anything with it, even Miyazaki once mentioned (years ago) he would do something with Bloodborne again if Sony let ...

For me it's often hard to find good in-depth negative reviews especially on big console exclusives. A huge chunk fall into these categories:
1. Reviewer give nearly always 0 out of 10 for the exclusive game of console manufacturer A, but 10 out 10 for all exclusive from console manufacturer B. (useless)
2. Spam of new accounts giving 0 with generic explanations mostly mixed with an political agenda. (don't care)
3. Those which look like they make some effort...

Resident Evil 2 remake was out in early 2019 and end of 2019 production of Callisto Protocol started. Guess the South Korean publisher "Krafton" (PUBG) wanted something like that in their portfolio (it did start as an extension of the PUBG brand, though ( https://www.pcgamesn.com/pu... )).

I mean, they are Russian devs, it's literally not allowed by law to have another opinion than what their government says in that matter ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... ).

Without bringing them and their business in danger, not commenting on it is basically the only way for them to handle this.

@porkChop
They probably have, but probably think (rightfully so) that most have still SATA SSDs which has performance limit of 550MB-600MB (since SATA was never designed around SSDs). Current gen consoles have 2500-5500MB read speed out of box, which via compression can double in speed. This makes a difference in streaming opulent open world games.

I guess it's about streaming in an open world environment. All current gen consoles have a NVMe hard-drive, fast to stream from. You can't guaranteed that with PCs, so it has to preload more into ram.

You might be impressed by this, but in reality this is garbage. No external compliance regulator would see an offense in this and would take action.

I expect that Miquella becomes an Orphan of Kos boss, who had become very old at that point. However, I'm hoping we get a dream/memory of Miquella first where we get back before the shattering. I want to see how it was to fight alongside Godwyn against the dragons, befriend Fortisax/Lanesax so he can turn the giant Gransax into stone in the final battle.

Rest in peace, Archer. You made at least my 80s better with International Karate and IK+!

That's the question their marketing doesn't want you to ask. I mean Fallout 4 had 14 mio. alone in sales on launch day! Fallout 4 is still in the Top100 currently played games (Fallout 76 rarely makes it there).

So in case of Fallout 76, you played it two years ago once, you are counted as player. Player statistics are worthless in that regard, especially when it was free a couple of times and is on GP.

I don't say it's a dead game, it...

It's in the current top10 of the Steam sales, which doesn't seem to mean much currently. It had a peak of ~11.500 players on Steam, it didn't even made it into the Top 100 currently most played games as it is currently in the Top200-300.

So the decision to go GamePass was the correct one.

For anyone wondering, here is the scene which costs Days Gone the GOTY: https://i.redd.it/nslj8y877...

Gruff white protagonists games with good reviews: Red Dead Redemption Series, The Witcher Series, God of War Series, (probably) Gears of War series and Death Stranding comes to my mind.

So it was indeed a bad argument of him.

Which is fine, you like what you like, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. For me, it was the weakest part of the game, but at least it was serviceable enough for me to not be distracting.

The zombie fad is long gone (the over saturation might have played a part in the reviews/sales too), so I don't think Sony wants to touch the IP again anytime soon, sadly. Garvins regular rants about it is not helping either.

1145d ago 4 agree6 disagreeView comment

Can't remember any reviews about that topic, but even if, Garvin seems to be the guy who likes to blame everyone else (The players who didn't buy it day one, the reviewers, Sony, the Woke, the Shiba Inu owners, the deep state and god knows what he rants about in private).

Even though he, as the writer of Days Gone, should have taken responsibility of slapping a predictable B-Movie plot onto an AAA game. The gameplay from Days Gone was fun, I also enjoyed the charac...

Disneys "build magic" approach might be true in the case of their movies or parks, but in case of games they have a lot of movie/tv tie-in shovelware. So for every Kingdom Heart you have like 10 mediocre games nobody would even remember if it wasn't tied to a Disney IP. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

Which I think is in favor for the gamers when he gives devs more time to polish, but the question is how long is he allowed to go that way. Is he forced to riddle the future games with microtransactions when GP subs don't match up his and MS business plans?

It's not like SONY is in an inherently better situations PS+ subs growth rate wise, but SONY didn't invest that hefty like MS can do. Who knows, maybe some unannounced IPs from those studios MS bought are a g...
