That's a huge shame about Spider Man and Horizon...I know you can say 'so what', but the reality is that a cross-gen game will NOT be using the power of the console properly.
I'm certainly making PS5 my next console but tbh don't really see much point getting it at release. Definitely when Gran Turismo 7 comes out though. And hopefully they do the console in black at some point.
As someone who works for a very large business with a PR department dedicated to this, it is achingly apparent that EVERYONE thinks it's bullshit corparate talk, which begs the question...who is this nonsense made for really? Even for shareholders etc, wouldn't their prospects look the same if the PR people just spoke like human beings instead?
You'd think someone in MS would have piped up and said "this doesn't look good", but I think they've gone all-in with the Games with Live thing and are kinda shunning the first-party merit of the console. I actually feel like they gave up on that premise fairly early into this gen tbh.
It's about Games as a Service, which is very different. When I say games I mean new IPs and new ideas, not the literal proliferation of games (multiplats etc)
DICE has disowned that series, makes me cry thinking about it.
Destruction, please make destruction an integral part of the next BF.
I still wonder who this is for. I mean, the Game Pass may comprise quite good value for money...but what true gamer is not only going to get excited about a subscription gaming service, and further PURCHASE a console which is basically predicated on that platform alone? I just don't get it.
PS5 is about GAMES. That's all I care about. Quality new ideas and performance, which PS5 looks set to deliver.
I'm not a fan of how this looks. Prefer the colour palette vs MW's heavily-yellow MP maps (always thought this was a very poor choice as the game itself is very pretty) , but otherwise, Cold War looks like a step backwards. Animations, recoil, map design etc looking a bit lacking really.
I really appreciate where IW went with Modern Warfare, so will continue playing they. Don't think I'll be picking this one up.
Most definitely, if we're talking hardcore sims like ACC. But I think load cell pedals make most difference.
However, in something like Gran Turismo, you can be faster with a controller as you can 'game' the slightly arcadey physics with a controller -- many of the world records are done with the controller . That is NOT the case in iRacing, ACC, rFactor etc
Haha and I thought the existing PS4 controller light was superfluous... This is cool looking but please let us turn all lights off if we want (for battery's sake)
Yeah, MW was a significant step forward for the series so it will be very hard for Treyarch to follow suit.
I'm genuinely surprised the price hasn't leaked yet.
I imagine both are preparing to undercut each other as necessary though.
Object interaction, destruction and AI kinda stalled over the last few generations as graphics have been the defining factor of the FPS genre. I hope this changes, THAT would be an evolution.
Just bought you it there, send your PSN ID so I can send you the code.
That's nuts. Do CDPR take donations? I think I'll buy a few copies of this as gifts.
Blows my mind how CDPR are in the industry, at AAA level, for the love of videogames as an art form.
Interesting career path. I don't think I could ever do it irl
On the team colour matter - they need to put out a fix so that clothing items ALSO turn into the team colour.
I spent a whole match yesterday trying to catch some guy's tail because I thought he was on the yellow team, but I eventually he was just a blue (my team) guy dressed up as a pineapple
This was leaked last month actually. Bit silly imo, people would be far more excited about a Hot Pursuit 2 (2002) or Underground/Most Wanted as a remaster.
Generational thing, but I imagine games will have little resistance compared to music and movies when it comes to going all-digital because games aren't ACTUALLY on the disc, the disc is effectively a key to open what is a digital copy.
For the record, I still buy physical as I like to have physical things, resale value etc...but I can see the change happening.
It's a good "upgrade" but not a truly next gen experience. It's like the PS3 version of GTA 5 vs the PS4 version, it was a very significant upgrade but not a next-gen game.
If the new Spider Man game was made from the ground up for PS5 our jaws would be on the floor.
