I dont see xbox being in any different situation then last gen.
Same number of 1st party games and other console exclusives.
In fact, not counting Fable, I would say there have been more games on xbox one then last gen that you couldnt get in the competing consoles. Or atleast that I've enjoyed. Ori, Qunatum Break, Ryse, Sunset Overdrive and Recore being all new games to enjoy on PC/Xbox.

What they did is check released games and how they're using the resources of the console and then release a console that tires to solve the bottleneck issues whilst still being affordable in the console market. End of story.

I think people are confusing customer interaction with friendship.
They way I see it MS has customer interaction and Sony doesn't. Simple as that. They could if they wanted be like Sony and never say anything.
You can agree or disagree with MS way of doing things but one thing is clear. They do their thing and this gen of all gens they haven't been jabbing or poking at the competition. And they have areas where they could do that but they havent.
