So what if they mod their own PS3s to falsify their own trophies.
How does that in any way effect your own trophies?
Or maybe it's because this devalues trophies to what it really is which is just a picture and a pop up.
God, you guys are either in need of serious growing up or psychiatric help. Seriously pathetic how you people keep whining like this.
yeh, it's been years since I saw the anime.
@ AKissFromDaddy
It will be interesting to see the result of all of this.
This scaremongering with "financial ruin" is BS really.
Look at the App Store's success even though jailbreaking iphone is legal.
Look at game sales on 360 even though it's been subjected to piracy for years.
It's similar to how US gov scares its people into thinking Wikileaks puts "lives at risk." But I guess wars don't, eh? =P
LMAO at BlackKnight's comment.
There's a very easy way to not let your PS3 connect online.
It's called removing the ethernet cable :)
lol no PirateThom. That's called conspiracy to forge evidence.
Geohot never formally asked for donations on his work. Sony would benefit in court if he did. So they tried this tactic to link the case.
I think Sony wouldn't want people to know about this. Too late now.
lol, I read this somewhere else. Pretty hilarious. Almost pitiful.
I believe they were trying to do this to link his twitter to paypal or something.
But if he never formally asked for donations then Sony is really taking the stereotype of the "evil multi billion dollar company."
How much money can Sony even obtain from Geohot? Even if he somehow gets a prison sentence. It won't scare off hackers. It will just make them stay anon...
But to play games from other regions, wouldn't you have to get a flashcart and download the ROM anyway?
Even if you manage to buy the imported game, the ROM was ripped from another copy and spread on the net, right? Wouldn't that make it illegal to download in most countries?
Unless you get the tools to rip & backup your own game?
"I will beat them down!"
Almost sounds like from an anime. You sure you didn't download any? =P
I think most people on this site equate piracy=stealing only when it comes to games.
But become total hypocrites when it comes to other forms of software. Like you bought MS Office or Photoshop or Adobe Premiere or that episode of Lost. lol
And to those who are 100% legit and buy everything. Of course, I'm not referring to...
Guys you need to stop generalising hackers.
They aren't some organisation set to destroy your beloved consoles and games.
They are random people. Some hackers make mods for the sake of piracy. Some hackers are against piracy. Everyone is different.
The Ad Hominem attacks are getting way too childish.
ROFLMAO.
But it seems bogus to be honest. It's not even out and the System's OS hasn't been installed on any 3DS. Although it didn't take long at all for the DS to get flashcarts.
We're gonna have to wait and see on this one.
Unfortunately. I'd much rather have that than FF13-2.
"less art meant's less unique work which mean could have less innovation."
I've always believed Intellectual Property laws were made just so publishers to make MAXIMUM profit out of someone's work to the max.
In reality, it's the opposite. If there were less strict copyright laws then there'd be way more creativity in the world.
Look at the Chrono Trigger fan projects that were stopped after S-E sent them the C%D...
^ and your statement is smart? lol
@ cgoodno, you can just as easily equate that logic with guns.
And I believe you Americans are particularly fond of your second amendment.
I think the point of the headline is that a professor, a scholar in education and considered very smart and wise in society, is openly against what Sony is doing.
Kinda similar when high profile journalists and activists in the UK decided to openly support Julian Assange when he was brought to court.
LMAO
I thought that was the stereotype of the nerdy gamer?
depends if there is a crime though. And that's up to the judge to decide. =/
here.
