No, all it does is deter them from gaining fame from their hacking.
There is always the anonymous option.
Actually, I've been glancing on the xbox-scene forums and apparently the news about this dashboard may be the opposite.
MS has now developed a method to re-flash firmware on the DVD drive via the upgrade process and the new dashboard has new levels of communications with it.
I think the hackers are going to have a hard time with this one. Although I may be wrong due to all the technical jargon.
Good sign that it will release this summer!
Oh and gorgeous box art. Feels nostalgic.
Very mature, Scyrus.
Also, don't be late for school.
MGS4 had loads of lengthy cutscenes but I enjoyed watching them. But I'm guessing LA Noire has many cutscenes related to the actual gameplay so it can't be skipped.
Hmm.
Well somehow I don't think AC3 will be the last game considering the huge scale of the story. There's so much story to tell in just a single game.
I think the next AC game was being made at the same time as ACB. So it would have been 2 years worth of development.
To be honest, if the milk tastes good the by all means milk it.
The difference with COD is that the milk has expired.
Well, if it's the final entry in the series then yeah there won't be a cliffhanger.
I think it's Sony too.
This only shows the injunction that geohot has to abide to.
Is there a separate one for Sony too? Or am I wrong?
Either way, what's stated on the document is pretty much what was expected.
It doesn't explicitly say that hacking the PS3 is in violation of the DMCA. That is Sony's claim.
Regardless jailbreaking the PS3 is still grey.
He's just a troll. Ignore him.
To be honest, almost nothing came out of this.
It really was a big waste of time for Sony and a waste of money for geohot.
geohot can just hack other products anonymously and other ps3 hacks are all over the internet.
So nobody won. It's really still the same situation as yesterday or a week ago or a month ago.
You do realise all the legal affairs are handled by the legal department of Sony?
Sony isn't a single person. The people working on games and technology are already busy and "concentrating 100%" lol
Well at the same time Sony never managed to make hacking the PS3 illegal.
I was hoping for a real conclusion to all of this.
lol
To be honest, it only means geohot won't be able to gain credit for any hacks that happen in the future.
He may hack other Sony products but post them anonymously.
Same enquiry. I read the article but it didn't properly explain what the terms of the settlement are.
My guess is that geohot will stop his work on the PS3 but not get sued.
But this doesn't solve whether jailbreaking a PS3 is legal or not.
Generally, it's the money's worth that seems to encourage piracy.
Games with multiplayer are less likely to be downloaded than single player games.
However I do agree that games are being sold at extremely high prices these days.
Umm, the stolen devkit rumour was debunked simply because fail0verthrow (the group that really hacked the PS3) found a very laughable mistake in Sony's impenetrable security.
If you take the time to read how the exploit works you will see that. As it was mainly a simply mathematical blunder.
Although you are right that Sony didn't win. But technially geohot didn't win too. He isn't a hero to the hacking community any more though. In fact the p...
