Today we only are 3 people working on the site daily, that is our programmer Dragonfly , Wannabe Guevara who helps with reviewing and editing news posts, and me Dusty.
The new strict mod is our programmer Dragonfly :), which now also helps out with moderating the comment section.
We also have ZeroTolerance but he is mostly busy with updating N4G’ sister site http://www.ztgamedomain.com

After reviewing your comments the last 24 hours it could be several. If you read the website rules at http://www.news4gamers.com/... I think you will see that our new mod just did his job.
As I have said before, the lame/cool voting will soon be replaced with a new system.
Top gamer / Realdeal got away with that as many others did because we didn't have it in our site rules then so I decided to give everybody a seccond chance.
Our new mod will from today keep an eye on the comment section and he will not hesitate to take away speach bubbles.

actually I unbanned his original account as after looking into it, it was obvious that Jin with the two accounts was not trying to be two different persons , from the look of things he was just too lazy to remove one of them.

We are currently working on a big site update that will go live very soon, hopefully we will be able to have a PM system ready for that update.

I agree, and this post was approved to the frontpage by mistake by one of our admins, and I removed it as fast as I could. This post is only ment for the pending news area which is infact for members only. This is the only way I can make sure all active members read it. Also this post is not to discuss individual members it is only here to inform that we are working on the problem.
And we will also in our next update add a way for members to contact the staff directly.
I see what you mean. The cool/lame vote works well on some type of stories but on stories like this it gets really confusing. It is very news worthy so it desverves a cool vote, but the story it self is not cool. I will see if I can design a better voting system for the next site update.
This forum module is costume made for N4G by our inhouse programmer after my design request. I am not sure if we have time at the moment to make it into a module that can be used on other sites. But after the feedback from our users so far we could be onto something here, so I will look into the possibility of creating a module flexible enough for other sites to use.
I have now removed all old IPs from our IP ban list, and if some of you were on that list by mistake I apologize for that. While we were updating the site we blocked all IP addreses , this might explain atleast for some of you why you thought you were IP banned from the site.
As for the ones of you who are blocked from viewing the site from work, it could very well be that your workplace is blocking our domain since it has the keyword "game" in it. I know many compani...
That is a real shame, but I guess this is really not Bungies fault, they would probably have no saying in this decision. That is the problem with big companies like Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo when it comes to fan created games. They have their own legal department, who are not very flexible on such matters and the people who work with the legal stuff are not gamers. But on the other hand they do have full rights to protect their IP so it is a difficult situation.
I am glad to see that almost all of you welcome this new feature. It is still in beta testing and as far as I know there are no other website or blog that uses a similar system, so we kind are in unknown waters here. We have an inbox with all spam reports. Before we decided to lower a members number of speech bubble containers we will look over his/her history of posts. The down grades and upgrades does not happen in realtime for this very reason. Also members who have say lost a couple of speach bubbles can gain them back if they start posting good stuff
If someone feel it is degrading to have fewer bubbles than 5 on this site then they only have themselves to blame. Our rules are very simple, and people who are able to express their opinion in a mature manner have nothing to fear. Also things have been much better since we introduced the system and people can easily get their bubbles back if they stop breaking the site rules and make posts of higher quality.
