"taking away their livelihoods"

Kotick is worth at least seven billion dollars. Pretty sure he'll be fine. What about the hundreds of livelihoods that he and the rest of the board (made up of war criminals, by the way) have destroyed via harassments and layoffs?

I feel like Fallout 4 was just put on.

@Alexious Tomb Raider: Battle Royale Edition!

EA literally stated to their shareholders that they don't expect the removal of microtransactions to have a major effect on their profits, meaning they were never necessary to begin with. Apologists just want to ignore facts and for what? To feel better about their own poor judgment regarding what games to buy? If "AAA" needs these horrible practices to stay in business, maybe they don't deserve to stay in business.

If they're here to stay, I'm not. The indie revolution can't come soon enough.

Pretty sure it's been indie studios (you know, the ones with not a lot of money) that have been the kings of horror games lately, so I really don't see where this "they're expensive" crap comes from. Just another excuse from an industry that is spending way too much money to the point where it feels the need to put in gambling systems in order to even make enough profit.

Whether or not I even agree with this article, it was terribly written. Poor punctuation everywhere and random capitalized words.

A sequel will work best with a new storyline taking place in the same mythos. The gameplay and scenary gorn was what really made the first game enjoyable to me, and more of that but with better production (thanks to the increase in power of the PS4, and likely taking advantage of PS4 Pro) and a new compelling story with new characters and everything would be fantastic. I'm really hoping for another chance to jump into the great world they've created, but I agree with their earlier int...

In the comments:

"Yeah, our license agreement with Microsoft doesn't really allow extensive editorial on the subject of rival products."

So, in other words, they're told what to say and think by Microsoft and not to look at how they might be boned. Good to know.

Those jokes are really pretty damn clever, very nice touch for some much needed comic relief and bonding between the characters.

I haven't started this game yet, but every little thing I see makes me more and more impressed. It could very well be the best game for PS3.

Sadly they said that Joel and Ellie's story is done. We could potentially see more of them with new characters who run across them, I suppose. I hope!

I'm sure there will be a sequel for PS4. They confirmed that this is their next big "franchise". :D

I'm pretty sure that's not the final name. At least I hope not.

You know, for being the week of E3, I expected a LOT more awesome stuff in the shop. :/

4628d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

What do you mean, six characters they need to announce? At E3, or for the entire game in general?

4628d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I honestly wanted something different than Metroid or Donkey Kong. I'm sure the new Donkey Kong game will be fine, but I must admit a tad bit of personal disappointment that they didn't have a bigger surprise.

Yeah, Donkey Kong 64 is an awesome game, but sadly it was the last truly open-ended 3D platformer. If this game can make a triumphant return to less linear platformer games (looking at you, Mario Galaxy), I will be incredibly happy.

They need to absolutely blow us away with exclusives that look, feel, and play better than anything the competition has to offer, have far better gameplay and replay value for the money, and show why these anti-consumer features are necessary for the advancement of the industry without being corporate greedy pigs. But I doubt this will happen.

Retro said that Raven Blade was completely scrapped and all the original assets were lost. That being said, developers have been known to lie in order to hide exciting secrets (such as Twilight Princess not being cell-shaded), so it's really up in the air! Could be cool to have it come back, I'm sure some of the folks working there still had great ideas for it, and now they have the expertise to bring them to life.

We'll see, but I highly, HIGHLY doubt it.

For one thing, I'm not a fan of Apple's overpriced stuff when I can do everything they do with far less expensive equipment. Secondly, the only games they have on their systems are quick casual games. Very profitable, yes, but they will never fully replace large-scale games. Thirdly, who wants to play all their games on a tiny handheld screen without any buttons?

I'm pretty sure the two biggest problems were its stubborn viewing angle (especially when the display is dark with 3D light objects, creates an unavoidable blur) and battery life. I'm also pretty sure those haven't been addressed, since Pilotwings still blurs when you flip over the license card and the battery still goes out after four hours.
