well ya they did have that year head start, but what im getting at is that every single other western attempt at a console for nearly the past 3 decades has failed completely
in much the same way that the psp is considered a success because it is the first handheld to actually stick around and gain marketshare from nintendo, it is similar with the xbox.

make no mistake this site for the past 2 years has enjoyed a majority of hits from ps3 users, but this was not always this way: from inception of the site to mid 2008 it was quite the opposite, in fact it was even more stacked on the 360 side then.....
i still believe treyarch has potential, but we will probably never see it as long as activision has them by the balls making COD after COD, and not allowing proper dev time for bug fixes/polishing ala ps3 black ops.

for tv with the ability to record and keep shows via dvr or htpc, and also that the main source of revenue for a tv show is ads i have no qualms downloading tv shows- unless they are from pay to view channels link hbo or showtime.
for movies the majority of movies strike profit in theaters, but then the main source of revenue for movies later in life is disk sales so i do have some issue there.

to be fair the author did say that the launch titles for a platform set expectations for the platform in the future and that like kinect the author wasnt impressed with the line up for the 3ds.

yeah and if everything is uncompressed the gpu/cpu are less taxed by not having to uncompress everything, not only that when you compress something you lose some quality.

i picked up the collectors edition on steam awhile back for 3 bucks! loved the game, got stuck however and have yet to complete it.
im pretty sure i read an interview with hermen hulst that they were taking a lot of cues from naughty dog on how to tell a story, also that they hired an external writer to pen the script.
i somewhat agree considering that despite the technical and network issues i have had a decent amount of fun with the game, but because of those very issues i have put the game down for a while and will most likely wait until the pack is a more acceptable price.

yeah your mostly right. microsoft has however provided us with a few excellent games, and they are the sole reason sony is firing on all cylinders (number/quality of exclusives, awesome online with new features all the time)
im just trying to have an open mind.
