On the grand scale of things this is a great good will gesture..
You wouldn't see the likes of Activision or EA doing this... ever.
I have started this game at least 3 times now and never ever managed to finish it.. its a shame as I really do hope GTA 5 delivers a San Andreas like experience as that to me was by far one of the best yet.
Gta 4 was way too realistic (for a GTA game) and the car controls were awful and the mission structure just didn't click for me but Rockstar have listened by the looks of things and hopefully GTA 5 will rectify everything that was wrong with GTA 4.
By far one of my favorite developers now.

Its a shame Retro studios are tied to Nintendo as I think they would do great multiformat.
Some of Rares gaming classics from the N64 would be great.. there being wasted with the whole Kinect side of things.
I will agree with this but it could be a little late now for some. They are doing the right thing by doing a 180 but the price of the console is a killer for some people on budgets.
They will do well regardless of the PR nightmare of late no doubt.
When the Xbox One was announced along with the DRM carry on, it didn't go down well with many people along with the price and left a bitter taste for some.. myself included.
They seem to be stuck in some sort of PR nightmare at the moment with a lot of backtracking but the icing on the cake for myself was the 2 free AA batteries in the box announcement.

I agree in many ways on the investment of the online aspects in regards to MS.. but with the PS3 . Single player is just as important

Probably the closest thing we have at the moment to the beast that was Shenmue. Although Yakuza is great, you cant help but think why has Shenmue not be remade into HD or a new episode been made as its clear the engine for Yakuza 3 and 4 on the PlayStation 3 is more than capable so It can be done.
There is a money aspect of course but the demand is there I think.
I think after TLOU .. Uncharted might grow up a bit.
Naughty Dog have shown they can tell a good story ..although Uncharted is great its still missing something I think and making it go a bit darker wouldn't hurt the franchise that much..
Could be the fact most people who have played COD for years have now grew up and moved on .
After Playing The Last Of Us .. It shows there can be new ideas and better ways to tell a story ..

There is also GTA 5 due which will swallow a lot of peoples time regardless of this release and others.
It needs to find itself again as AC3 was way to confusing to follow sometimes and the menus as well as the fast travel were quite crap.
Needs to go back to the basics of what made Assassins Creed 2 great in my opinion....
Rockstars work speaks for itself.. and I seeing as they have just had the worst storm in history I'm sure releasing a trailer isn't there top priority right now.
I'm sure making sure all the staff are accounted for as well all the equipment they use is fine as well as getting power back would be there first priority's...
It would be interesting to see a proper breakdown of the costs ..rather than it being rounded off and put down to"Developing and Programming" .
Would be great to see a Documentary of some sort showing a game being designed - programmed and then finished and detailing the costs involved and efforts of the Development team etc
I'm not sure how hard it would be to implement but could DICE not have a few servers to take advantage of this mod instead of screaming INSTA - BAN ....
If they did that way then it would be a level playing field for all on the server although if its PC, theres always a element of more Hacking ..

I'm looking at the bigger picture..
The game itself (BL2) Brand new is on average £39.99 plus £19.99 for a season pass...here in the UK anyway that's a fair bit to pay out to play the FULL game.
Call me a tight arse but I'm not prepared to lay that sort of money out as I imagine many people are not.. yes times have changed but there needs to be a balance found.

that's fair dos... but when you look at what Rockstar are trying to achieve there will be problems seeing as the game is ridiculously big even for online.
But as far goodwill gestures go its great and there will always be a butthurt minority who don't see it like that .
