And I reckon the most respected magazine in the industry is entitled to their opinion as much as some little man ion N4G is.
Quote 'A beautiful and graceful fighting game that lets imagination loose, and winks before slapping Dante, Kratos and every other hero back to the drawing board'
Funnily enough, a general comparison to all act...
That's a good question, scar-leg . It's also irrelevant to pick on MS early hardware problems though (the first batch of PS2s were totally up there quality wise btw), as well as prejudging MS future line-up of titles, based on that they 're pushing their motion gaming peripheral right now.
Dualshock is lame, people do get used to things but it's ergonomics are crap and the left analog is ludicrously placed. It has a cool d-pad but then again the triggers are s...
McDonalds? I'll tell you what's a McDonalds, no games up until almost 2 years into the console lifecycle, multiplatform titles looking like crap with the lame ass blur up until 2008, no decent online at launch, no cross game chat, Ridge Racer and Massive Damage.
AND a shitty gamepad.
all that imho of course, just like yours /sarcasm
Oh and seriously, MS did release the most durable, most powerful and most flexible console last gen. G...
Pretty sure MS stopped production of the original Xbox in 2006, and it's sales figures have remained the same since about 2005-06. Just saying.
it's okay, let them be. Denial is often really hard to overcome, just get used to it on this site.
XBL most played titles, Reach is constantly in the top 3:

'standard', really? If anything X-2 was totally the opposite, being missions based and all. Or was there ever mission based FF before?
The quality was absolutely the same, X was just a generic same old FF, with inferior storyline to both 6 and 7, it didn't even come close to the PSX titles. And both games had the same overdramatic cliche ridden plot and characters, aimed at angsty 15 year olds.
Actually, the game has been heavily criticized for having a generic cast of characters, cliche ridden plot, and generally being basically a lame clone of Squaresoft titles.
If anything, the battle system was the only thing innovative , competently done and fun about it (aside from nice looking cg movies).
@Death2494
Read the comments before replying to them, 'bro'.
My point was about the MLAA having a natural con of blurring the image. I specifically mentioned that their implementations likely varied, and specifically stated that when the engine is optimized for it, and when they do put enough effort, the results are satisfying.
My original point was about devs using pros and cons of each console differently.
I mean it is a general natural downside of this post processing effect. Certainly superior though to the 'quincunx' that you mentioned.
GoW3 not being blurry means the graphical engine was well designed. Means their programmers work well together with their modelling team.
MLAA was used in the PS3 version of Saboteur, Uncharted2 and GoW3 as far as I remember. Yes though, their implementations likely varied. And it was performed on the central processo...
Death2494, a game looks good for multiple reasons. like the clever visual arts and level design. MLAA is very well suited for PS3, since it's being performed on the cpu. it also has it's downsides, like the ugly bluriness. Nobody is 'holding anything back', while 360 lacks in raw cpu power compared to ps3, it has a better gpu. It's not that simple, see. it in this case it's to be expected with a multiplatform game, since PC/360 and Sony's console are very differen...
No they don't, The only games they do actually give a bit higher scores are the british ones. All those fanboy blogs with ludicrous stats and ironically biased analysis are sickening.
It's some people who are looking way too much into it, to the point of being paranoid. Edge are being harsh and they use the whole spectrum of scores, which leads to whiny zealots and conspiracy theories.
Didn't know making a version of point and click adventure game with excessive use of QTEs and lots of banal pseudo intellectual bullshit counted either. But hey, to each their own.
You misunderstood. My point :announced/rumored is one thing, actually released is another. Say, God of War was originally planned to come out in 2009, people were certain they would be playing it last spring. AW/GT5 have been delayed many times.
Besides, XCom, Kingdoms, the rumored Halo CE remake and the next Halo game by 343 Industries, Forza 4, that Suda51 game, The secret World, There's quite a list as well. People might try and downplay any game as much as they want, ...
'PS3 is the best all around everything device, gaming, multimedia, etc'
Opinion. quieter? yes. more durable? true. Better gaming library? no. A matter of taste. Perhaps people enjoy xbox games, thus they disagree?
'has the most exclusives coming out for it. '
Oh wow, if you say so. It has atm the most *announced* and *rumored* exclusives , and people already make it look as if it has the most overall.
See, next year will take c...
Er, what makes you think it's that hard to handle? Just because the framerate drops on PS3 might as well mean it's badly optimized in places. Thus there's no 'facts' supporting any of those claims.
And what about Halo Reach custom maps for example, just because 360 isn't completely open, doesn't mean MS don't allow user content.
well said, ToV is one of the best Tales games, and the most well done jrpg this gen.
Just in case anyone forgot
7/10 might be harsh, but unlike N4G users, Edge are articulate enough to justify their points.
Then again, it's in line with what's to be expected from N4G and their statistically confirmed bias against reviewers that don't give 9+ ratings to every PS3 game.
N4G.. no surprise here.

Are you kidding, it's far from that compared to the likes of HL2 or Bioshock. It's just a moody, grim world. If you believe that warrants to be called 'dystopian', you should reconsider your definitions.
Even if we're talking jrpgs, say, the original Shadow Hearts did a a way better job at being dystopian.
That's silly.. the game is psychedelic and satirical.
