Merc, i did not hear that :P
Thanks for that little bit of info, it was just a random theory drawn up from the map I saw there (Since I go there to get my Killzone: Liberation Unlocked Content)
Bubbles for everyone in this thread since this game put me in a good mood :)
For once I'll agree. It took alot of guts to tell developers you have to insert achievements into all your games.
And while some did it half-assedly, some did a good job of it. No one will deny that Microsoft has set a standard in the industry with the introduction of achievements.
The only thing I don't like is when I hear of people buying/renting crap games for the points. It gives developers the wrong message. Make crappy game, but put achievements in it and w...
Yes you are quite right.
Games have had unlockable content since the days of yore. Microsoft took this and drew it in the limelight and as a result, the industry follows suit and has created a new way of showing off what you have done.
Sorry if I made it sound like I took it too far :P
I'm sorry if I sound like a deranged PS fanboy but.
This video makes Killzone 2 look like all that an a bag of potatoe chips.
The environments and lighting really make this game look like the most immersive video-game war (And I don't mean like, Halo war or Call of Duty war, it sucks you right into it's own world and it makes it feel believable, and all this from a video) experience that I've seen in quite some time, possibly only rivaled by the first time I play...
I agree. I still don't even know what SKU stands for...
Stupid
Kids (are)
Ubiquitous.........
I dunno...
MS PAID NDP TO DOCTOR THEIR FIGURES!
I'M A PS3 FAN AND I HATE YOU! YOU MAKE US ALL LOOK LIKE GODDAMN SONY WORSHIPERS!
"OH NOES SONY CAN DO NO EVIL!"
You're paranoid. And you're insane.
As a PS3 fan, i'll say something bad about Sony to prove my neutrality and objective reasoning.
Who's the idiot who said "We shouldn't package a bluetooth headset into the box/release an official headset so people don't ha...
The satisfaction that you have maximized the value of your purchase by spending as much time with it and doing everything there is to?
I know some achievements may seem idiotic.
"Host a 14 man server to get the server achievement"
I'm talking about the achievements in games like Guitar Pro where getting an achievement means you hit a benchmark in your skill.
Getting a trophy in Heavenly Sword telling the world you beat it o...
Very well written post, I agree with alot of things but I'll tell you where I see discrepancies.
"Multiple SKUs? Sure, there have been too many in the first two years, but also look at the PS3: 3 different SKUs in less than a year, and rumors of more. I'd say that both PS3 and 360 are guilty here."
However, the PS3's SKU's differed in hard drive space, and at launch date: Memory card readers and Wireless. The 360's SKUs differed in Outputs and optional ...
This has to be one of the best precedents set by Microsoft.
Achievement systems are a jewel for anyone who considers themselves a game completist.
You know once you've done all the "Token/Achievements/Troph ies", you have properly completed a game and done everything there is to do.
It's really cool to see Metroid Prime and possibly, other games follow this.
Edit: Zomg the phantom disaggreer cometh! :O
What's this?
No arrogance? I thought this was a joke.
Thank you Microsoft and Nintendo for humbling Sony....
EGM is not biased to sony or x-box.
They hate all games equally.
Fanboy wars: Over!
Thanks for clarifying that Ryu.
That statement goes double for me.
I'm a PS3 fan and not represented by other PS3 fanboys.
I don't agree or disagree with any of the comments here.
Just want to say everything he wrote was correct: But they weren't precedents set by Microsoft.
I do agree charging for Gamerpics and Backgrounds is a bit much and punishable by testicular electrocution though...
I don't see any wrinkles in Mario's shirt, or skin pores in his face. His body is not proportioned properly and I can't find any bump-mapping in the levels that give it a distinct realism.
IGN reviewing Mario:Galaxy with a blind man confirmed!
Edit: Yes, this post was a joke meant to make you laugh :( Sorry if you took it seriously.
The third video with the videos is interesting. I have a question though: Do you think it's practical?
I don't see myself caring how I beat a level and bother with watching a video of how I did it.
For multiplayer, you can tape yourself doing some massive killing sprees, but I just don't see the point of it existing for single player unless it 's for speedruns and walkthroughs.
Don't disagree, it's an opinion that's not reflective of my general opi...
Holy Sh*t, the brute tries to jump the warthog in the second video and the guy shoots him off, how awesome was that
lol 5.1
Have you ever seen the foilage in Crysis?
The leaves have transparency!!!!!!!!!! Nothing will touch Crysis for a couple of months, even if the game is terrible, it'll be the graphical staplemark of PC gaming.
Technically, the game was broken. The engine, game emchanics, nothing came together.
The story, characters, the guns, the enemies all made for a great game, it's just that in the big picture, the whole thing is less then the sum of it's parts.
Guerrilla themselves have STATED and are aware of the critical reception it garnered and are working to make the game everything Killzone 1 wasn't.
Plus Killzone Liberation gave me hope that they have some id...
Whoever gets this on a console is missing out on alot.
Get Steam, and get the Valve Pack when episode 2 comes out.
It'll be the best 90 or so bucks you ever spent in your life.
Half-Life 2 is worth upgrading your PC for.
I didn't check, going now, I'll edit my thoughts after I'm done.
Hmm, I see what you mean. The trails that come from the rocket. I also didn't like the way they disappeared. It would have been nicer if they just expanded into nothingness like real gas does (Gas expands to fit it's container and gets diluted in the process)
I did like the second rocket however, the way you see the ray of light coming through the smoke and it distorted the player's vision.
