Ok Sony fans are saying this is bad? Actually i think the story line is quite compelling. And it almost makes me want to buy a ps3 to play it. haha Almost. I have no doubts that this will be a fantastic game.
Technically xbox 360 had 1080p before the PS3 :P it just wasnt announced. And 1080p has nothing to do with storage space (well not much). Its the resolution of the render. So it being on a DVD9 is superfluous to 1080p.

Yup your right. I compress my files in winzip and then extract them, and oh wait, _they are exactly the same_. Are you a software engineer? The Compression algorithm is the opposite of the decompression algorithm. If the compression is good it will lose little to no quality.

Sony is just trying to be stupid, and being very successful. Upgrading 1080i to 1080p, oh god how much data will be lost? Its the same resolution, your just converting the way its being sent, unless your a videophile (actually wait, most of them dont know what theyre talking about either) you will NOT see a difference. I have an HDTV and I couldnt care less. The difference is not nearly as drastic as the difference between VHS and DVD, which is going to make it difficult to justify. DVD movies look fantastic on my big screen, and I have no reason to switch to a format which costs extra and delivers very little difference. I dont think these are very recent. Theyre going on and on about how they have a lot of space, but i cant actually see pixelation and problems with textures. I.e. the bump maping on the alien's, dont know what their called, arm in one of the pictures (the blood vessel). And that alien boss' texture lookes blurry and low res.
