1080p we will need for the future of video gaming but not now maybe in 6 years. next consoles will both have 1080p or anything else games will be in full 3D. Movies in 3D without glasses will hit theaters in 3 years first movie is Star Wars 1 patent for this system is not japanese costs for a existing movie like lord of the rings only $5 million.

i am sure with the new windows vista will come more surprises for sony. with a hd-dvd drive for 200$ OR LESS i think thats the price what consumers accept not a console what is build for games and the rest of the familie like to watch a movie but the gamer is sitting on the Hdtv in the living romm and want to play games. if you wanna play and the familie want to watch a movie you go in your room and play and connect the add-on to your pc and with windows media center they watch the HD-DVD.

-exclusiv games with better graphics?
if you have all this and sony offers the better games what run 1080p thats a deal o.k.
i wait and will see what the future shows. i dont see 1080p Hdtv's in kids and teen's rooms with highsppeed connection in the next years.
i dont know any of the systems will win. until a winner is on the market for under 200$ i will watch my dvd's on my 2 advanced progessive scan dvd players. and maybe the next generation console have the same system build in already.

i will wait with buying a hd player until every movie is released on one or both systems. when i go to blockbuster i see no movie in any system and i will not buy every movie i like to see. until the system war is over price will drop to 190$ for a stand alone player or next gen consoles come out inclusiv hd drive.
