Not to mention a massive and seamless game world. Try flying hundreds of ft above Northrend and tell me it's dated. Epic draw distance.
That's a bit of close minded attitude isn't it?
People who enjoy MMO's are more than happy to pay monthly fees because it's cheaper in the long run as you don't need to buy many other games. Content is constantly added in MMO's so paying for it individually would be a constant stream of micro-transactions, and that would put people off more than a set in stone monthly fee. I pay £9 a month to play an mmo which I get many many hours of entertainment from. All that fun for the pr...
I can't believe people still use that one... You can play your PC on your television too, controller and all!
Hehe, so true champ. There are so many contradictive people on this site. Like the PS3 owners who blame the 360 for "holding the PS3 back", when PC gamers could say the same for all consoles. I'm lucky enough to own all the consoles and a gaming PC, so I enjoy all the exclusives. No suprise which platform I'll be getting Crysis 2 for though ;)
What does that have to do with anything? Oh there's a rock giant in GoW3 as well... What's your point?
What game? This is a tech demo for DX11, which requires one of the soon to be released DX11 GPUs, which current gen consoles obviously don't have.
I would love to get tickets to BlizzCon, especially if it's in Anaheim again. My 2 favourite things in the world are Blizzard and Disney :D
I think that's exactly the point, they want to let it go and forget it forever. It is a tad extreme though. I mean it's a game that's trying to be as historically acurate as possible, so attention to detail is everything.
It's a shame so many developers use DRM like this. It really puts me off buying.
Maybe this will encourage more of todays youth to pick up and instrument and form proper bands, rather than the charts being mostly full of digitalised crap.
Steam is in a sense a DRM. But you're missing the point, Gabe is critising THE WAY Ubisoft are implementing DRM. Steam is perfect. It's an all in one application for digital distribution, playing with friends/clans, downloading media and demos, and supporting indie gaming developers. Steam is embraced by millions of PC users and it isn't obtrusive like Ubisoft and other companies' DRM.
Cheers for linking that vid. The fact that this game is "Nvidia 3D Vision Ready" gets me very excited! Also looking forward to trying Metro 2033 on my 3D rig. The future is now!
Alright sorry dude I didn't realise the EA servers had to be online for 3rd party servers to work. I honestly haven't had any issues with logging in or getting disconnects. There was a period last night whilst the patch was being applied that you couldn't play, but other than that I've been playing ever since with no issues. Just my experience. I heard a lot of the issues were to do with people not running the game with adminstrative privilages so Windows was blocking server access.
Whilst I haven't had any issues with the pc version, a patch was released last night so I believe the connection problem is sorted. And why would it matter if some EA servers were down anyway? Ever heard of dedicated servers? Obviously not because you're talking out of your ass.
It's 120hz that is required for 3D, 60hz for each eye so there is no flickering. However you're correct in suggesting that more hardware is needed to make games steroscopic, and I just don't see how consoles can handle it this gen. I have Nvidia 3D Vision on my pc, and games that normally run at a smooth 60fps see a big perfomance hit when you enable 3D. If games like Uncharted 2 or GoW 3 are even remotely straining the PS3, you can guarantee that 3D will bring the console to it's knees.
It's true that WoW has become more accommodating and accessible, and I believe that it's totally a great decision. It's far better than being elitist and having only 10% of the player base see all the content (fight with Illidian)
I think that's because there are quite a lot of PC gamers on this site who just read the articles, and don't need to contribute to stupid flame wars etc. I'm suprised someone hasn't posted "LOL warcraft is gay get a life", when they probably spend hours and hours on other games anyway. Ah well :D
And there is no way to conceivably win when the native population are against you and want you out.
I'll be using Nvidia 3D Vision, so this will really test my hardward. I've still got the recommended specs, but will prob have to sacrifice a few options here and there for the sake of performance.
"The Kingdom Hearts games are infamous for producing "whoa, how did that movie get in here" worlds (ie: Nightmare Before Christmas, Tron, and Pirates of the Caribbean)"
Seeing as those 3 franchise's are Disney owned I don't see how their inclusion is suprising.
