Both Half Life's. I was 11 when the original came out, and it just completely redefined what an FPS could be.

Never before had such an emphasis been put on story and atmosphere rather than mindless shooting (the first 30mins or so you don't even get a crowbar). It's the first time I realised games could be as cinematic as films. Epic.

Dark King -

I agree analog sticks are great for certain genres. I have a 360 controller for my PC for 3rd person action/adventure games, fighting games, driving games, and platformers.

You can't argue that keyboard and mouse isn't the most effective and precise control method, fr00ty is right. Imagine trying to navigate a web browser with a control stick. Now swap your web browser for a FPS and clicking on an icon is a headshot.

Whilst I think it's rash to categorize casual and hardcore gamers, I find it amusing that some console gamers take offence at being called casual, whilst simultaneously laugh at PC gamers for being nerdy, no-lifers. I...

And Justin Bieber is one of the highest selling artists around today, what's your point?

Using sales as an argument for quality achieves nothing, because quite often shit floats. Besides, PC is a very profitable market indeed. Why do you think the EA just shelled out the most money they've ever spent on a any game on a PC exclusive?

Probably not the best site to mock the extremity in which many value video games as a meaningful and life changing entertainment medium. Some of the best times of my life have been spent playing games, whether with friends or by myself. I for one am also honored and proud to have enjoyed the past 10-15 years of technological and artistic advancement in the industry :)

Indeed. And DAII? Wish I hadn't read the list, I had just about forgotten about that miserable excuse for a sequel.

People can spend their hard earned money however they please. Just because you wouldn't pay for something doesn't mean someone else wouldn't, and it certainly doesn't mean they're stupid for doing so.

Some people spend crazy amounts of money on designer clothing. I wouldn't but that doesn't mean it's not worth it to those people.

How can you say it's all to do with marketing as well? As if the consumer hasn't found o...

It worked many times for Road Runner :)

Surely it's detrimental to your combat abilities if you continually level up based on a crafting skill?

Getting to level 100 smithing quickly is all well and good, and you may emerge from Whiterun with the best gear, but you'll also have low level one-handed/archery/destruction skills. You'll charge into an area that's tuned to your level, with only the ability to smith you foes to death!

Haha, it reads "The Elder Scrolls 5: Hot Pursuit" for me. How odd!

The license plate says San Andreas because that's the state Los Santos is in. Doesn't prove anything.

Vinewood is part of Los Santos, just as Hollywood is part of L.A.

Trust me I'd love it if it were all of San Andreas. But it seems to me it's just Los Santos.

I agree. In fact no one disagrees with that. Read the article :-)

It's so refreshing to see the wide variety of race/class combos people will be rolling.

I half expected every other person to say "Imperial/Nord Warrior with big armor and big weapon". Just seems like a sterotypical thing the masses would go for. But alas there is creativity and imagination on display!

I'm going to go for a Khajitt Theif/Illusionist, as well as a Breton Mage/Weapon Enchanter.

"If your PC or Macintosh gaming rig isn't beefy enough to handle the raw, hardware-hogging power of the Back to the Future adventure games"

Is this sarcasm or does the author genuinely believe this series is demanding hardware-wise?

Telltale's art direction is fantastic, but in terms of the actual engine used for this and other series, it's very system friendly and scalable.

Case in point - This series is available on t...

A very well written article that sums up Skyrim very nicely. Gah want it now!

I have high hopes for this game. Hopefully it'll play as good as it looks. No reviews and it's out in a week (UK).

As someone has already pointed out- default female Shepard has always been a redhead.

So basically, this doesn't fit -your- perception of the role. I prefer redhead shep over stereotypical blonde shep any day.

Oh nice one, thanks for clearing that up. If Chris Taylor is involved with RCT4 I may die of excitement.

Sweeping generalisations are absurd. Issues can crop up from time to time sure, but any good developer/publish will address them.

I rarely have PC issues, and it's not like consoles are immune to it. Red ring of death, PSN network going down? Shit happens.

Plus, I see it as a good barrier to entry for PC gaming. Morons like you don't play PCs because you can't work out how to download a patch or search for a solution.

It's a shame. A few months ago on the Atari forums there was an official post made, asking the fans what they'd want for a RCT4, as they were considering it. Looks like they got our hopes up for nothing.

Such a great series. I'll bet they've made a load of money on them, seems silly not to continue that.
