From what i see the 360 is still leading with +-6 million.
So sony still hasn't closed the 1 year gap lead the 360 has and what does it matters.

Color me interested they drop their 60fps goal because it seems everybody wants graphics over nice smooth gameplay so im interested to see what they can do with 30 fps.
From what i understand is that with this algorithm.
They produce textures from lets say 256*256 then the make from that same texture a 128*128,64*64,32*32 and so on.
So lets say the object that uses this textures gets like 30*30 pixels on screen the game will render a downscaled texture of the 32*32 version to save memory instead of rendering the 256*256 version.
This method saves memory but it needs extra storage space.

Not really a upgrade graw 3 looks more like a downgrade and procedural textures made by computer code not textures that have a artist finishing touch to it.
