However if you are victim of red ring what's the worst possible scenario? You are without your console for 2-4 weeks, then its replaced. It's annoying as hell. You'll be compensated with one mOnths free gold card, I was twice anyway.

The psn is screwed. As soon as it comes up there are gonna be hackers itching to see if they have what it takes to breach it again. It'll be a challenge they'll relish simply because they know the publicity they'll get and a sense of bragging rights amongst hackers that even with the freshly patched up psn they could still infiltrate it.
I've just bought red dead redemption and pre ordered la noire for 360. I now place a lot more emphasis on my decision making based on the online services. What the last two weeks has shown is that the psn Is a mickey mouse network next to xbox live. I would never expect the hardened ps fanboys to admit it though.

Get xbox live. This is where multi console owners have the upper hand. Blind consumer loyalty has led to the ps fanboys refusing to get a 360 and miss out on the best of both worlds. True gamers own both consoles. Every gen since master system nes days I've owned all mainstream consoles
Sony should deflect attention by lowering the price of the ps3. Some positive publicity off the back of this. If another price drop isn't an option, maybe chuck in a move wand at no extra cost to your basic ps3 bundle.

Totally abandoned us. The gamecube was pants too. The n64 was cool, I preferred it to psone due to mariokart, goldeneye and Zelda.
