God I really hope this is true. Even though I game primarily on a 4K monitor, I would happily downgrade to 1440p at my desk since 4K really isn’t worth it on a 27” screen.

This is a huge issue and it should've been rectified years ago.
Having been there when HDCP was an issue with the PS4 that prevented content creators from capturing footage using their capture cards at a better quality than the PS4’s internal capture system. People did the same thing. Called it “whining/moaning” and a “non-issue” even though Sony patched a HDCP toggle a few months later.
An issue is an issue, which should be addressed. Especially for a $500 piece of tech in 2020 that’s not expected to have these kinds of issues to begin...

That doesn’t make sense at all considering Microsoft is launching the Series S in the region with preorders starting on Tuesday. Plus when you look at places like the UAE, Saudi Arabia (the biggest gaming market), Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar as an example. They have the infrastructure and capacity to allow a digital only devices and services for years. Gamers have a choice, and multiple people were asking when preorders for the Digital Edition is starting as I was preordering mine.

Plus, the retailer mentioned in the article “Geekay Games” are also forcing customers to buy 2-3 accessories alongside their preorder, which is shady as shit. This was not even an issue with the PS4 back in 2013.
