Expansion is taking existing stuff and rearranging it. There is no new content at all.
Thats you in your bubble. If these games dont sell, they dont make money which in turn prevents ms from developing new and great games. Instead they recycle existing tech and ips which results in franchise fatigue and sales decrease for their titles results in ips going away at some point. Then they invest less and less into games which results in less games and/or less innovative games.

That isnt a mistake. The mistake is not investing more and have confidence in their 1st party studios to make games outside of social games or short shooter campaigns. A true rpg experience and they have the title to do it woth fable. Or make a new ip like ps did worb horizon. Instead they are racing 1st person and 3rd person shooters

Phil needs to change his view on the type of games he wants to add to the catalogue. Milking if old ips and he focus on social games is not working. The traditional aaa single player experience still stills with great demand. Ones that domt get cancelled and not just 6-10 hrs long.

Worst thing is streaming. Many people dont have great internet speeds and many carriers have monthly caps.
Problem is the market is showing what they think about ms exclusives and it isnt very good based on sales performance. Along with cancelled games and very little new ips in the pipeline and also new in 2017, ms is well behind.

Doesn't matter what type of game it is, sales of hundreds of thousands can't support this type of game probably high development cost being halo. This isn't anything new for MS, all their exclusives had very poor sales.
Even GOW4 had lower sales then GOW judgement from what I read.
Which games on cdkeys on the console did they discount for 35% prior to launch? Only one I remember is street fighter, somebody mentioned RE7. But I look at cdkeys all the time for games for these deals and haven't seen many big AAA type games discounted prior to launch. I've been looking for NIOH/Horizon/Wildlands and didn't see.
THis was $38 prior to launch, this game is going to flop. RTS is a huge niche product especially on console and to expect people to want to play without kb/m is a total miscalculation from MS. They should remember the studio that made HW1 closed shortly after launch, it isn't a big market. MS is tripping over themselves constantly over the past few years.
