Both LG & Sony are part of the Blu-ray Group as are other electronic makers. You would assume that any Blu-ray patents held would be shared.
Considering NGP can use untouched PS3 assets, porting should be an easy process.

Ever thought what would happen if a dev ripped off another devs source code. Theyd be sued for copyright theft.
Well that gimp has ripped of Sonys copyrighted source code eg Sonys PS3 service dongle/reverse engineered Sony's Firmware/tools. Using Sonys SDK to make source code is illegal in itself without a paid dev license.
He guilty on loads of counts and should be jailed for all his actions.
We have rights for our own Consoles(hardware), not software(Firmware/games) and services(PSN) ran on them thou, thats owned by the copyright holder.

But why would anyone boycott Sony, they made the awesome piece of hardware(PS3), that they like to tinker with.
Without support where would PS3 be.

Well if the devs and publishers don't get income from gamers eg buying games. then the games suffer hence the knock on effect to gamers.
Also hacking the sercurity of the PS3 just put all your credit cards details at risk of fraud, if in wrong hands.
Funny how the patent issue with LG infringing Sony phone patents has led to LG saying the same that Sony infringes on LG Blu-ray patents.
They should just swap patents and be done with it.
PS - How was the 'Blu-ray group' formed without the licensing of the Blu-ray patents in question.
Blu-ray is an agreed standard by over 30+ electronics makers including Sony and LG.
