Barret wasn't black in the Japanese version, they just made him black when they translated the game into English.
I don't think there was any intention when FF7 was originally created that they consciously put in any "race" according to real life terms, they were just FF people like any other anime that is in their own little anime universe.
People will buy MHG for the MH3 demo, they'll get this controller cuz the wii mote sucks ass when used as a normal controller.

I always get satisfaction on reporting assholes.
I tell them that I am going to report them and other people might also do the same thing. The guy purposely miss-translates Kojima's interview for example and many other Japanese related stuff; taking things out of context and made it into something else all the time just because most of the readers can't speak Japanese and can not verify the source.

Back in the days I don't think Japanese were conscious of how westerners are sensitive to different skin tones.
