BF4 had a really awful campaign......which I ran through twice, when the MP servers went down. That's what the campaigns are for.
I have a friend who is VR/AR crazy. He has GearVR, Oculus, VIVE and even Hololens dev kit. He rates the Vive highest of all and says the immersion is so much more convincing with the room setup.......but..it's buggy and difficult to get running. There are a mountain of hardware/software conflicts at the moment. I'm waiting for the dust to settle before I make a decision.
Even if they do put out a standalone version, there is still the question of it missing 6 maps.
And when they turn up as DLC there will be hell to pay....
So the number 5 is now gone?
Why? Everyone else is bashing it.
multiple avenues of anger:
1. People Sick of futuristic COD
2. People just sick of COD
3. People who just want MW remastered and don't want to have to pay for them together
4. People who think MW remastered is a joke because it's only 1/2 the original game.
5. People just sick of Activision's shit.
BF4 became a great game in my opinion. But it had such a bad reputation by the time it was working. Hopefully they learnt.....
I do miss the occasional round of MW domination but my PS3 died, and I just can't get into any of the last few CODs.
Xbox 12 ?
Kinda reminds me a bit of Timesplitters. I just don't know how much longevity I can get out of these traditional FPS deathmatches though. Multiplayer competitive FPS needs a fresh angle I think. Something to kick the life back into the genre.
I liked the first one but it was a bit short and towards the end the scare factor wore off and it was just a bit samey. I hope they addressed those issues this time around.
Is it going to be like the iPhone? They keep releasing faster versions, but the apps still work on the old one, gradually becoming more and more sluggish and lacking functions until you just give in and upgrade? That's what it feels like. I see why they would do this but I'd rather it be an expansion that you just slot in the back of the console or something rather than have to buy the entire system again.
Well I don't understand how they can expect people to get into something that really doesn't do anything we haven't seen before. It kinda reminds me of Quake 2, which was the first online multiplayer shooter I ever experienced. I absolutely loved it at the time because the concept of a bunch of real people all running around a small map and shooting each other seemed new and exciting at the time. I loved it AT THE TIME. There is no way I would want to go back and play Quake 2 toda...
We get it, it's infinite (almost). It's like saying 99% of your Minecraft map won't be explored. Wherever you go there is more.
EVERY

YEAR
Every E3 Microsoft claim something like "biggest/greatest something ever" Pure marketing hype.
Ugly women get angry.
I'm not angry that I'll never be as tough and good looking as Nathan Drake.
Victim culture. That's what it is.
Bullshit.
Mario, Zelda and Metroid games with graphics which meet current standards: key to a successful Nintendo console..... And not in 4 years time, like on or near launch.
So tell me about it just being a gimmick again.....about how it will flop like other peripherals.....thought not
Wow. Call Of Duty shoots itself in foot over a title.
MW4 would sell twice as many. Even if it's the same game (I mean, it always is) but people have fonder memories of the Modern Warfare series where Ghosts is almost unanimously the most hated of the lot.
Silly
Some people get very angry and feel compelled to tell someone they are wrong about their own opinion. The fanboy world is a strange place. Great article from Jim as ever.
