I read on the original post a good comment about having different pricing levels based on the bit rate. This is an excellent compromise to the standard 128k download. If you want the 160, 192 or even 320k rate then simply pay a reasonable increase. Record company, artist and provider will all profit.
Charging more for 'hits' seems to be UMG's objection. Increase the fee for hits and reduce the overall price to download the entire album. You might sell more than just the hits.
As a business owner that consciously operates the entire company in Mac, my biggest problem with any type of pda and/or cell phone is the absolute lack of an effective convergent product with Apple. In my industry (printing/graphic arts and publishing) virtually every member operates in Macintosh. I will be adding this tool to the entire sales and management staff once it has been proclaimed stable and is readily available in Canada.

I read this after the iPhone article but I stand my ground on the iPhone's practicality. If you are a current Mac user this was the peripheral we've all been waiting for.
As one of those die hard Mac guys, its the ability to actually have the OS integrated right into the peripheral. When traveling, I have a hell of a time converging my MS Entourage (Outlook) with any external device. The price is not the objection it's the use of the OS.
I will skip this generation until the flash memory increases into the 20Gb+ range, but this will be my next peripheral.

For $279 CDN and the ability to play previous GC games (many great ones are now in the bargain bin) this is the must have console for any family.
