This series better not die. This is the only series that i truly fucking love from the first game to Re6 to all the spin off. I warship this series to ground. I don't give a fucking about the survival horror aspect. I play it for the characters and storyline. The movies are also fucking amazing.

Well depending on what CPU and GPU they use for the system. It can easily be that price tag. Remember Nintendo isn't about Specs, yet they manage to keep there systems affordable for the mass market. They can easily put a 4 year old card in there system and it will produce better graphics then what we get today. Providing that the CPU is a Power 7. Perhaps they lowered it down a bit. Yes, PS2 did get RE 4 but that's what made Shinji Mikami quit the series. He hated Capcom for porting that game over to the PS2.
Nintendo has more things to worry about then "Specs". They need to gain 3rd party support back, they need to make sure there Online is up to par or better then Sony's or Microsoft's online.
