I'm getting it because I want the game, but for those who don't, its a great way to pick up the camera on the cheap... The game should do well on that alone.
Thank god I don't have to buy this game as well. Between COD4, Ratchet, Eye, Mass effect, Haze and another 200€ worth of games I am sure I have to own, my wife isn't getting crap for Christmas.

Living in Ireland, I am not surprised by this. Despite giant Masterchief posters on every public bus, Halo isn't really a system seller here( Except for my brand new Halo Limited edition console :) (I wanted HDMI and my old CD drive was maiking noises similar to a duck being hit by a sledgehammer every time I turned the thing on) ). FIFA and PES are the kings here and with the price cut and FIFA in nearly the same week, PS3's are selling like hotcakes. Resistance I would assume is just along...

Well with the US dollar in the toilet, and the stupid prices charged by retailers here in Ireland. I guess I'm hanging out by my mailbox week after next.
Not only do I get the game a week+ earlier I pay 25% less... I LOVE region free!

Not to be a partisan, but this isn't exactly gaming news... The PS3 plays blu-rays which make blu storys marginally relevant... Most X-Box guys don't really give a hoot about HD-DVD as their console doesn't have a built in player...
Kids game? Listen to the voices next time you are matchmaking in Halo3. Puberty is a long way off for some of those...
Yey more PS2 Ports! With Backwards compatibility going on the new PS3's you'll need something that can play ancient PS2 games...
Was sick of Halo so I picked this up this morning. Just finished chapter one and its nice to see a game having a little more concern over story (cough cough) then carnage. Not for your attention deficit crowd but so far one of the better games in my library...
So nice to see a developer trying something different for a change...

What is with Microsoft releasing gimped hardware in an established market and throwing countless dollars at it until all the tools in the world are convinced that you can actually shine a turd. Maybe they should just charge less for their OS and concentrate on making it actually function properly.

Probably bogus, especially since the game isn't out yet... That being said, ALWAYS check your disks, I've had plenty of sealed boxes containing disks with scratches or missing disks all together and your friendly game store employees arn't always enthusiastic about replacing them.
One HDMI port for the TV, one optical port for the Sound system. You can't get 5.1 out of crappy TV speakers...
