Both Microsoft and Sony lost money on their consoles.
Though Sony lost w/ price Microsoft lost w/ hardware issues.
Each lost $3 billion.
Sony has been making it up and since early 2008 they've made up the money and are now making a profit w/ the software and even on hardware by finding new ways to get the same performance at a much lower cost of production.
Microsoft is doing really well w/ software just like Sony only they suffer w/ hardware failures and payments.
Get it down to $200 or $150 and Blu-ray will takeover as the main format.
Just like what happened w/ the VHS so will the DVD meet the same fate it'll get replaced by a better format.
