Tried joining one of the lobbies with supposedly better matchmaking... It ended up being a full team of Gen5's against four players all under level 30. They never had a chance, final score was something like 300-45

Didn't actually read the article did you? Coming to PC first, they're trying to hit stretch goals now to bring it to consoles as well.
The AI isn't that special in Titanfall, nowhere near what the article claims the cloud is capable of.
Throughout an entire match there's only around 30-40 AI on the map at once. The article claims the cloud can handle computing for nearly half a million objects at once, then in the same breath says Titanfall makes "extensive" use of that technology.
If it did we'd have either a lot more AI, or a lot better AI. As it is now, Titanfalls AI doesn't do ...
A small scholarship fund would have been nice.
A lot better than giving a 5-year old a bunch of games when his dad was trying to get him to stop playing them in the first place.
Article mentions nothing about how the "Cloud" helps Titanfall. Only that it uses it all the time, even when playing the tutorial by yourself.
What does it do?
Don't care about the graphics/textures, that's what the mods will be for.

Agree with a lot of points you said, especially the Spitfire LMG though.
For something unlocked so late you would think it would be a little better. Personally, I think it should have been an Anti-Titan weapon instead. They're the only thing it's effective against.
Even without the slammer mod you can rodeo and take out a Titan in seconds with plenty ammo to spare. It's even good while on foot against Titans....not so much against pilots though.
The game got high scores because it was reviewed for what it was, and how it played. Not for how pretty it looked.
If you're playing Titanfall anything like CoD, you're doing it wrong.
The two couldn't be more different. The only similarity they share is that you earn xp for shooting dudes in the face.
Did you read the article? There's no unlimited item glitch or anything like that.
This is a list of all the NPC's who give you stuff, and the merchants who have an unlimited supply of items to buy. (Or what to do to get those merchants to have an unlimited supply)
And since enemies eventually stop spawning, I would assume nobody will be able to farm enough to actually buy an 'unlimited' amount of any item.
Titanfall is more than just a Call of Duty with mechs. It also has jetpacks.
