Sorry but anyone questioning my knowledge on dx12 please go watch the conference, just because it is good news for MS doesn't mean it is not true or PR drivel. Currently all APUs use very low optimization because a real option for multi treading has never existed due to the difference in idle time. If your idle isn't equal then the GPU or CPU is waiting for the other to catch up. When this happens you lose frame and that's when you get skips or framedrop. With DX12 they can keep t...
I completely understand what you are saying but since it operates at a shared load it takes strain off of the APU as a whole because it is technically a SoC, which means if you lower the load that CPU handle it parities the idle time with GPU which would not require a graphical downgrade. This was explained in the conference which is why the skepticism was so low. DX12 was built for lower level APUs but scalable, it was also built for ARM compatible devices so they took into account the adde...
If you don't understand what the APUs responsibility is, don't respond. Multi-threading alone will take all the strain off the CPU and split it, if you have ever used your PC at 10% load vs 90% load you will see a huge performance drop on the throughput. By splitting the load across 8 cores, you can essentially double your frames. It's all math, no need for a demo.
Edit: The disagrees are hilarious from people that don't even understand the technology.
Yet Sony continues to push back games and announce nothing new. It works both ways kiddo.
Obviously, you don't know what AAA is.
This is a BUILD conference for developers and programmers not for consumers. They were breaking down what is inside the box and how it works. Talking about how this is achievable to devs does not reflect on gamers, the comments in here are absurd.
O.M.G.
Two random people leave and deserves an article. Key players at Sony leaving is much bigger news than this stealth troll article.
Guaranteeing this will include both seasons when it is released.
Do you know what an indie game is?
Congrats Phil, make us proud and bring the games!
Nice stealth trolling, this is the fastest selling MS console to date. They have already announced three times what Sony has as of now. We'll see what PAX and E3 have in store.
This is correct, due to the backlash MS got by going first. Sony took the backdoor to drop all policies and take several jabs at MS. This paid off for them, but people are crazy to think this was not a collaboration between them that Sony went back on.
This is on a much larger scale and not viewed through a camera, but an IR inscribed device. Imagine whole scenes brought out of the game world and into the living room.
Or maybe he doesn't want his game riddled with adds and commercialism and also wants to keep it a very solid running game that doesn't use Facebook in any way.
They put their money into funding an idea with an open platform, now funded idea has been sold to a media giant who has their own ambitions for the product that were never originally discussed when people backed the project. They have a reason to be upset and I could see some of the bigger supporters filing a class action lawsuit over this as they did not get a say in this buyout.
Amazon and Google have already expressed interest when the rumors were floating around. MS won't sell off the side of their company with limitless future possibilities.
They have level linking coming out soon and infinite worlds. This makes anyone an indie and alot of these games are quite fun. I can tell you haven't even played it.
Two devs are collaborating on a thirty hour game using the new beta build provided by Dakota, there is alot of potential for gigantic fun games.
Just watched the video, this was incredible. Next gen guitar hero and great way to show off their new single. So much potential with project spark.
If you are playing it as a game then you are doing it wrong. You will not get a real full game out of this until level linking and unlimited world's are added. However, it is an extremely polished beta for a game creator.
