"When I walk towards a nearby desk with a computer, I notice that that Martian landscape disappears beneath it, rather than projecting over it; users can designate areas where they don’t want holograms to appear, which is especially useful if you want to interact with the holograms using a computer. They encourage me to hold the mouse, and when I move the cursor off the screen, it appears suddenly within the holograph as though the Martian landscape has become an extension of my desktop....
You can have it scan your room and choose where you want to place holograms or if you want to completely eliminate the objects from the space.
"“Is it real?” I ask. I’m looking around at the landscape of Mars, where a dusty, rocky desert stretches in every direction, reddish mountains rising in the distance. It looks so vivid, so strangely plausible that it’s hard to believe that I’m actually looking at the surface of another planet and not the set of a sci-fi movie.&quo...
This is not even close to the same thing, also the retail model will be wireless and have self contained hardware, good luck having the morpheus capable of doing all that. Also, it is already compatible with a mouse/keyboard so the potential is limitless.

Well since it is already shown to be compatible with a mouse/keyboard, unlimited gaming potential.
Except that is built around the windows 10 platform which they have already shown the press it can be used with a mouse/keyboard, read the hands-on in the rockpapershotgun article. Also, they have already said it will be compatible with the XB1 and since it has a self contained, GPU/CPU/HPU, the XB1 will be doing none of the lifting. Also, since it is compatible with peripherals, then of course you use a control plus this.
The only issues MS has to deal with is price and if t...
I am so blown away by the tech, it seems like something that wouldn't come to fruition till 2020 at the earliest. There is so many applications both gaming and not that can be achieved uniquely with this device. Take this article quote from RPS, showing that it can be used for any genre and is definitely not limited.
"When I walk towards a nearby desk with a computer, I notice that that Martian landscape disappears beneath it, rather than projecting over it; users ca...
Yeah, two hands on impressions said that it scans the room with various apps to see where your walls, tables, and furniture is so it can build the world around that, or just completely remove it from the space. Also, this device is fully compatible with a mouse/keyboard or controller.
I'm going to Pax Prime, I hope they have a full fledged headset by that point because I am so excited to try this.
This article answers quite a few questions about the technology.
You can use a mouse and pull the pointer into the AR space.
You can choose where you do not want holographic images displayed.
You can actually walk around your creations and to see them up close.
Let me know when Morpheus is a stand alone device and not just a peripheral. The hololens has a high end CPU, GPU, and HPU and can run a full OS right through the device.
You can also use a controller or a mouse/keyboard. Several testers have said that it pulls the cursor into the hololens space.
Exactly, you can still use your controller, but anything can be part of the game world.
Holograms are defined as images as a results of light emitted from various sources, that cross to create objects in a 3d space. So yes, technically these are holograms.

Incorrect.
Type-0 has been the most requested game to bring to the West. It is really really good.
Have not had one server issue all night.
There is no point to this game, but just murder innocent NPCs for no reason. Is there a story? Is there a reason besides anger for doing this? Is there a silver lining or moral at any point of the game? This game just seems like the perfect game to convince lobbyist to attack the gaming community and I just see no good coming from it.
Yeah I am a completionist too, I actually accidentally left the zone while closing all the rifts at level 8. Then I went back to the war room and found out how to open other zones and saw the story missions and the game picked up big time. I also really hate fetch quests but once you get your spec, you won't mind them as much since every battle becomes fun with your new skills.
I love how Phil takes alot of his time to clarify and answers all concerns. He really doesn't have to, but just shows how dedicated he is to making Xbox and MS successful.
