Did you ever try U2XMP? I'm sad that died out.
Hugely underrated expansion for Unreal 2. I ended up playing that WAY more than any other game, even CS or Tribes. The community died too fast because of poor advertising.
Ahh gosh. This brings me way back!
Unreal 1 and Fallout 1 were the first two games I ever owned for the PC after making the jump from my modded Amiga A1200T in 1998.
I remember being completely blown away by the intro sequence for Unreal. Great memories. I'm going to have to relive some of this action tonight!
It might say 720p on the box, but that's just the video output resolution.
I wouldn't make a decision based on what it says at the back of the box.
It is still very possible that the PS3 internal resolution of the RDR game engine could be set to 630p (1120 x 630), but then upscaled to 720p for video output.
I'm really hoping it isn't.. but I smell a bad rat with the sales tactics.

CryEngine 2 isn't a cheap tool, and all you are scrutinizing is level design with your below examples.
You obviously haven't seen the lengths at which CryEngine 3 is being designed to work multi-platform. It is one of the most powerful game engines to work with. All you have to do is take a look at the GDC09 vids scattered about the net.
I wish more games had the same eerieness and depth.
When I first played Cryostasis, it was like being dragged into an entirely different world. The sound effects are particularly good.. if it is cold outside, play this game and leave the window open. Trust me.
I was going to write an in-depth response here... but I'm sorry, this Aaron Greenberg guy is just too embarassing.
He lost all credibility in my books for making such a ludicrous comment.
Argghh.. another stupid console war story that isn't even true!
I wanted to love FF 13, but the combat system was junk to me.
It lost its charm and seemed more like a "let's see how many moves we can fit into one fight without there being any real tactics". It's like watching a dazzlingly fast paced anime battle that is unrewarding. They might as well have totally automated the battles because that wouldn't have made the slightest bit of difference.
