Its been a very successful franchise that I have really enjoyed. The multiplayer has been fun and engaging - COD4 was awesome. The single player stories have been great, some not so great, but I will always have really good memories of the first WW2 Call of Duty where some of the parts were mirrored on the Enemy at the Gates movie. Was really really great fun.
I see a classic in there - Arkanoid. Definitely need to get that one. The Call of Cthulhu game looks very cool too - used to play the RPG pnp game once upon a time, it was awesome.
So hard to go through all the thousands of games in the Google Play store to find something decent. Reviews like this are really useful.
Well, anyone who is willing to put the time in to grow the eSports in South Africa...
ROFL. I kind of love this retro craze.
He's a legend :)
If you draw a distinction between casual (web-based games, Facebook games and the Angry Birds players) and core gamers (Xbox, PlayStation, PC) - core gamers demand more from a gaming experience than mobile gaming currently delivers, casual gamers on the other hand are perfectly happy with the convenience and delivery of the mobile gaming experience. So, I don't think that mobile gaming is going to sweepingly take over the traditional core gamer market, but rather a lot of the gaming publi...
This is a quote from a recently published article, 'SA’s videogame market sized up', on Techcentral.co.za "Mobile gaming is expected to account for the lion’s share of growth in the South African videogame market in coming years". So it would seem that developing countries are not immune to the mobile gaming boom that is mentioned in the article.
For me, gaming is pure escapism, de-stress and entertainment. The fact that it improves mental "elasticity" and hand-eye co-ordination is a real bonus.
There are so many people desperate to play this, I really hope it will be up and stable properly today.
If you're a FIFA13 fan, brace yourself - despite it looking like small changes, the FIFA14 game is very different. Also, really nice what XBOX has done with the Legends.
I think a lot of this behaviour doesn't really reflect on gamers, but rather on a wider society problem. I think if you scratch around, there are plenty non-gaming examples of similar bad behaviour. Takes all kinds of people to make up the world, so you take the good with the bad. Unfortunately, Steph, I also dont have an idea on how you correct this other than to not tolerate it from people who you have an influence over and hope that the influence spreads.
That Portal 2 speed run is amazing!!
My thoughts exactly.
Veni, vidi, vici - time to break out the cohorts and lay some beat down on those barbarians. Senatus Populus Que Romanum and all that. Actually, now I am thinking about Asterix and Obelix comics.
I think the videogames thing is a little incidental, the main part of the story was that she was sitting with headphones on and not paying attention her child. That's just negligence especially when there are pools around. Still, I do feel for the mom, because she must be devastated.
LOL, I am with you - I am in denial that its 25 years old. Man, I used to play this at the arcades. Good memories :)
I applaud the Steam guys for taking the leap and getting into the OS and hardware markets. Its a first attempt, so there will be a learning curve but I have faith in their ability to deliver in time.
Well now, that is going to be fun
Totally agree.
