@883
I do see your point of view. My idea of a one console future is unlike the PC market as we know it. PC's are upgradeable and parts are interchangeable. It's just funny how in our world, there are so many "things" that end up doing the same function but are manufactured by different companies. And we accept this. Examples are TV's, Blu Ray players, and MP3 players. I know it will never happen. But I always thought that MS and Nintendo should pair u...
Everyone calling it a monopoly is getting the message wrong. Take a DVD or blu-ray player for example. Is that a monopoly? Or just an open source format for any company to use? What if a console is conceived where any company can make their own version with any bells and whistles as long as it plays the current gen games. After 5-10 years, an updated version is released. The competition will be in the games and also which company comes out with the best, most reliable piece of hardware. Kind ...
Do or die? Yeah, no. Xbox isn't going anywhere no matter the outcome of E3
Microsoft Rewards = free XB Live Gold
@Rainslacker
It's not Xbox vs Sony. That was the point of my post. It's Xbox vs Playstation. Where Xbox doesn't stand a chance. But in terms of Microsoft vs Sony, well... I'll just leave it at that.
Basically, Xbox doesn't need to beat Playstation in order for Microsoft to succeed. But Sony can't say the same for the Playstation.
Trust me, Microsoft makes plenty of money off the Xbox brand, especially off of Xbox Live. Like in the billions....
Microsoft vs Sony.... Hmm
I remember when Battle Royale was a mode called Last Man Standing in the OG Gost Recons
And MS fans are delusional?
Or MS
@jwillj2k4
What's the ulterior motive? Making money? Isn't that what a business is supposed to do?
Came here to see how the haters can spin this one into something negative
I don't think CD3 will be a blockbuster hit by any means but the cloud technology it will be showing off is just a glimpse of the future for what's to come next generation. I'm imagining Battlefield type games with crazy destruction, awesome weather effects, and possibly better lighting for better graphics.
"We don't need no" what? Education?
I think it looks good. Go watch some gameplay of the first Crackdown (which has mostly positive reviews) and then watch the gameplay of this new one. It looks exactly what this gen of Crackdown should look like.
Launch game for next gen?
There's a snake in my boot!
"In 15-20 years will today's digital games still even work?"
I'm not arguing with you, and most people seem to agree with you, but aren't physical copies just a license that you bought the game? It still needs to be downloaded onto the hardware just like a digital copy. The reason I bring this up is because there's a lot of games that require a download patch on day one. So if the servers go down, is that physical copy still going to work?
I've gone all digital this generation. But I'd be lying if I didn't think it was cool to walk into somebody's game room and see a closet full of a thousand games.
"...there is a reason PlayStation sells 4x as much software as xbox. There is a reason Sony reports sales and you report users."
Yeah, and there is an even bigger reason why MS has WAY more money than Sony.
