that's kinda the beauty of the Lotr there is a lot of lore to make a game about and since not everything was written there is a lot of freedom to interpret that part of the lore that's there. or you just do what monolith Productions did. and just fuck the lore to create your own thing. although the thing that made that game good was the nemesis system.
what about every apocalyptic game most of them have a background story of how we destroyed the earth in various ways.
I am actually surprised this game has an active player based on how I remembered how it was released. not a bad game overal. do I do think they should just release a second one that improves on the current build they have instead of going for the live service built on this one.

are you seriously saying this?? of course, it`s the cheater's fault for cheating. but it's Activision's fault for not stopping them. every game will have cheaters if nobody stops them. apex legends has an anti-cheat. yes and no. I mean one of the best experiences in gaming I had was the witcher wild hunt. one of the reasons was because it was long. it kept me entertained the world feels alive. even with DLC added it didn't feel too long. Red dead did a great job as well although shorter. at the end of the day, long or short it doesn't matter as long as the quality is good. who the hell complains about a long quality game.
