Let's not forget that ND develops for PS consoles only and U4 is visually excellent on a 'console' where hardware is limited, a achievement that not many has pulled.
We will be fortunate if they can release a AAA game every year, which of course is not realistic.
There is still the upcoming single player DLC - looking forward to that just becuz we have no idea what it's going to be. Could be with Nate preque lor based on Elena/Sam/Sully during a certain point in time where in the story Nate was doing something else. Similar to Last of Us DLC.

No they will announce a more powerful Xbox because if the competition does so (because it is still rumors - no confirmation) - they will follow to continue to stay relevant in the market (note those 180s). Plus with those rumors flying around with a 10 TF graphics card on the next xbox (which some fans are taking it like an holy grail - cue CrapGamer and misterxmedia (just look at their twitter or youtube)).

Hopefully controller is not gimmicky, meaning additional compatibility issues or Dev effort. Plus hope this means changes in their region lock and censorship stances when localisation is involved

I believe it's to due with the budget. The game was given a smaller budget to begin with to test the waters for the franchise, don't think Last Hope did well compared with the 3rd game on the PS2.
So buy the game if you want to see more from this franchise.
I think it's more of a connection issue hence the limitation, i.e. your connection. You can imagine the stream a 1080p would need a more beefy connection - uploading wise.
But I don't see no reason to withhold a 1080p option especially when some people has the connection to back it up.
Like to add the piracy in the PS2 era was very well known and very popular. Lots of shops in Asia were selling modded PS2s (modchips) and it was easily modifiable via other methods
Pirated copies can also be easily obtained or downloaded from the internet or very cheap from some shops. People with modchips were also able to just also either rent the games and provide themselves with a copy or just lend off their friends.

Depends on how it's implemented. I am pretty sure it was mentioned that all games will work on all consoles but with more inferior frame rates, resolution, textures, etc. Similar to the 3DS (just look the number of 3DS revisions)
From a business preservative it is much cheaper to upgrade it than design the next gen from scratch and it extends the life of the console and yes I do agree that it will divide the fanbase. But as someone who can't afford a high spec gaming ...

I think PSVR is more for the current install. I can't see people forking out console + PSVR + Camera + games. That's quite a lot of money.
I doubt GS statement due to the sheer quality games we are getting this year compared to 2015 which was already a good year for console sales
